and while many of the propositions were deliberately confusing .... it was still fun to have the whole experience and suport my favorite representatives.

I believe you're the second Oregonian today I've seen mentioned how they voted, and they were both write-ins!

...sat through a seven-hour meeting... and am pretty much checked out mentally. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the business day poking around on Legion World.

Today I voted. When it came to the Board of Ed, which I honestly don't have a clue about any of the candidates, I voted in all independent parties. Yay Green Party!

I tried to get out of it last year, telling them i moved on two different occasions they just kept sending me the damn summons. (i did move!)

but finally i went to the gathering for jury selection, they said we had one more chance to postpone 90 days, so i did that one and 90 days for the courts is like 5 or 6 months cause they have so many holidays. so now i have until late feb to come up with a new excuse.

i have heard of people just throwing them away ... but i'm too chicken, i would be the one person they tried to make an example out of, hunt down, and prosecute.


i wouldn't have such a bad attitude if it wasn't such a horrible experience in l.a. i used to be a good citizen.

they tell you to arrive at 730 for jury duty, and their frickin employees dont arrive until 9! so you wait all that time.

and the judge on my trial fell asleep. and the lawyers were silly, they asked the same questions twice in a row ... not on purpose.

... walked backwards the whole day at work which made a few co-workers change the direction in which they were walking.

...did little of consequence. I have too many days like this.

...took the fam to see "Megamind" at the movies. Pretty good, actually, and some good in-jokes for comic book and superhero film fans.

...am waiting for mr_cleome to finish cooking the pasta (linguini with bay shrimp, garlic, Romano cheese, capers, olive oil, orange pepper, and Italian parsley). It smells great already!

I don't know how they handle it in your state, but Massachusetts has a one day/one trial deal. Basically, if you are not picked for an actual trial, you only have to serve that one day. If you do get picked, you only have that trial, no other. You're in Califoria, right? They also have the one day/one trial system.

I've been called several ties and only once was I almost seated on the jury.

But this January, I have grand jury duty. Acording to the info they provided, 45-60 people show up and 23 are chosen for the grand jury. If chosen, I'll be serving for 3 months.

...got my comics and hung out with a friend.

...went to an improv workshop, had a killer migraine that put me out of commission for a few hours and made me have to cancel plans to see some friends do a show.

... just woke up, so ask me again later.

... must try to make it to work on time!

...just got back from a "family crisis."



I had about four hours sleep last night, and I leave for work in ninety minutes.
