...had an appointment with an attorney/psychiatrist. I tried to think of a joke about his briefs being all in his head, or something, but it didn't gel.

... got on the subway and had started to read the paper when I heard "Stop F-ing looking at me!" It came from a guy standing near where I was sitting. On the other side of the car was a transvestite. The T. then said "Are you talking to me?" The guy replies "Stop f-ing checking me out!" They exchanged some more words. The T. was (IMO) exasperating the situation a bit by saying things like "Are you interested in me?", but was still denying that he was checking the guy out. Then the guy started advancing on the T. The T. was saying something about knocking the other guy down. However the guy looked very muscular. At this point another guy in the car got up and yelled "Back off!" He then said to the guy "If you mess with him (meaning the T.), you'll mess with me and these other guys." pointing to some other men sitting nearby. He tells the muscle guy top go to the other end of the car, which muscle guy does.
I think muscle guy got off at the next stop. The T. got off the stop after that. And the intervenor had gone back to reading his book.

Interestingly enough, I've been in a very similar situation as that transvestite, and was very thankful for intervention!

... used one of my Legion Archives to help my daughter with a school assignment to draw a comic strip. I was able to teach her about word balloon placement, using captions, using thought bubbles, using perspective and a bunch of other junk. I think she found John Forte's attempt at drawing babyfied Legionnaires pretty ludicrous though.
Also, I posted here for the first time in way too long.

...am so annoyed it is not even remotely funny.
Well, I had to call my school because I got a letter in the mail telling me that I have too many credits and cannot get any kind of federal help. I do not have to come up with the money for this semester, since they "screwed up" and gave me the loan before they got all my transcripts in, they are letting it stand.
David Sopko From this point on I cannot get any loans for MCC since I have too many credits. Which, even though I have a degree, means that I am not making satisfactory academic progress. Go figure...getting a degree means nothing.
I can appeal, but she said that I have very little chance since I have so many credits. So, I need to know if I am in the program so No Worker Left Behind will cover the schooling...but I will not find that out until after the Spring semester has started.
Also, Jen has too many credits as well, so she can no longer get a pell grant to go to MCC.
There's your progress and government helping the little people.
Thanks President Obama...for nothing once again.
