When will the world learn that to be Scottish is to be right. Reboot sees no resemblance ... ergo ... there is no resemblance! Seems a simple enough principle.

Oh, I really like it. Very Thirties, pulp, art deco, classy, retro looking. How's that for a description?

Not loving it. It screams Silver Age.
I can live with it, but this is one Silver Age logo that didn't need brought back.

Given Mark Waid's assertion that this version of the Legion will see itself as a sort "Society for Creative Anachronism," I think the new logo's retro look makes a lot of sense.
Do I like it, though? Not sure yet. I'll reserved judgment into after I see it on a few covers, and in different colors (as most logos tend to be done nowadays...)

Noboby's more Scottish than me, and I LIKE this logo!
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I knew I'd seen the logo before but couldn't quite place it. I now remember that it was in the reprints in Legion Archives.
I happen to love it and it makes sense considering the Legion movement is supposed to be a "throwback" to a different era.

Glad to read most of you like the logo! One of the main things for us was that it had a modern design sense with a touch of stylish retro that went with the new LSH ethos. The other great thing for us is that we felt it has a very distinct look, which is what we wanted for what we feel is a very distinct book in the DCU. As far as attrating readers goes - I'm not sure I EVER bought a book for the logo! Anyway - sales look just great for the new book so no worries on that score! One note about the version you've seen - the faces in the circles were taken from my original cover design (see appropriate thread... help - someone! ) which were meant to be in squares as you'll have seen. The logo wasn't finally chosen until after the cover was complete - so I've working on new heads to fill those spots. The mystery blur in the right hand circle was Starboy from the original cover mock-up.

[Star Boy] { Planetary bucked that trend by having not just a different logo/typeface for every issue, but also using a completely different design ethic when designing each cover. [...]}
Alan Moore's "Promethea" took the same tack, with most of Williams' and Gray's covers paying homage to some classic work of art, such as van Gogh's "Starry Night." A few did allude to the contents, and others evoked genres such as pulp adventure and young romance stories.
(Mick Gray apparently moves to the new "LSH" as inker, by the way, with issue 3. Or one of them, at least. Our loss on "Promethea," with its ending the run next month, is Legion fans' sizable gain.)
"Promethea" was about as idiosyncratic a non-superhero book, though, as anyone could create, and its audience looked for the unique covers.
The logo design may indeed fit perfectly into Waid's "SCA" conception of the Legion -- and may make it perfectly unrecognizable or too much of a throwback to attract new readers, of whatever age, when sitting on store shelves. Both are possible. I don't want the former to outweigh the latter.

Astro City has always a different logo and cover design...at least the last series did.
Fables also plays around with logo and it's cover design. it also seems that all veritgo titles do the same.

I agree with those that say that like the Fantastic Four the logo seems classic, pulpy, art deco, romantic, etc. I'm just negative. Still don't like it. My bad side is telling me that the art deco (glorifying the 20th century superheroes) may get on my nerves. The good side loves the Legion and can take the logo as very nice. I'm a "hurt" Legion fan so little things may get on my nerves but as long as the meat and potatoes are there....i will be all good. Jorge

After 2 issues, can any LSH reader still say they dislike this logo?
Just curious. I myself think it's the HOTTEST logo currently going at either DC or Marvel.

Had to say, I'm loving the usage of the logo headshots as avatars here. They're perfect for that, aren't they?
Looking forward to the tryout issue that features headshots of Infectious Lass, Lester Spiffany, The Mess and Absorbancy Boy...
