1446 - The Hangul Alphabet is published in Korea. It was created because Chinese script wasn't working for the Koreans; the Hangul Alphabet was the first alphabet to encode the mechanics of vocal sound production into its characters. For example, there was one visual element for “teeth together”, one for “tongue on the roof of the mouth”, and one for “tongue against the front teeth”.

1445 - A year so boring it doesn't show up on BrainyHistory! Wikipedia, at least, lists two battles (the Battle of Mokra and the Battle of Gomit, both of which sound like Legion planets), the discovery of Senegal and Cape Verde by Dinas Diaz, and a few birth and death dates.

I use Brainy history too, to identify events, but then I always end up doing further research to find out WHY the event was significant. Brainy history also occasionally has errors, such as with the entry below - it says Eton College was founded in 1441, but other sources say Eton was founded in 1440. 1441 - King's College, Cambridge, founded by Henry VI. "King Henry founded the College to advance education, religion, learning, and what we now in a later age call research." It was meant as a sister college to Eton, but lack of funds stalled its development until 1508, when King Henry VII began to take an interest.

1436 - Beginning of the Luchuan–Pingmian Campaigns, undertaken by China's Ming Dynasty against Tai chieftains on their border near present day Burma.
The four campaigns were disastrous: the Chinese forces were ill-supplied, and the Tai had a huge home-court advantage. The economies of several areas in southwestern China were disrupted, and many tribal allies of the Ming Dynasty were disgusted at how wasteful and inept the Ming army was. In the years to come, several tribal uprisings would occur.
The Ming would favor diplomacy over warfare in the years to come.
