During his reign, he annexed Taiwan and the Chakhar Mongols, put down the revolt of the Three Feudatories, improved flood control on the Yellow River, repaired the Grand Canal, compiled a dictionary (The Kangxi Dictionary) and invented a Chinese calendar.
