I guess it's for the same reason that any of us are interested in the rankings, post count, etc. represented in this thread...because it appeals to the competitive side of our natures. I posted my butt off and worked my way up to the Top 7 as something to show for it. Does it bother you that it matters to me? Seemed a strange thing to call out, anyway.

I've accepted the fact that I peaked at #1 and am likely on a downward trend. But of course, I don't expect anyone to pass me prior to 2015.
