KP, I'm liking what you've done with the place. It's like a Transformers discotheque in here.
Just spouting off.

It's gonna end once I activate the tracking device I carefully place on all my Transformers. Momma Prime didn't raise no fool.

I've often found that Barbarians can easily be reasoned with. Just provide them with sparkly things and booze and you can get all kinds of good stuff.

Here you go Kippers! I've recovered your stolen items--just another days work for LW's greatest hero.
Hope that curves your anger a little, but then again, that vomit is a bit nasty...

Speaking of Transformers (and when aren't you? ), do you know if any of the Transformers books out there are worth picking up? I tried "Generation One" for awhile, but couldn't get into it or the characters as they were portrayed.

Honestly, Drake, I've had a hard time getting into the Generation 1 ongoing series. I think all the little in-jokes and easter eggs referencing mainly the movie were subliminally irritating me, considering it's a completely different continuity. I may look at it in TPB once it's released. (of course, this also has to do with my comics budget significally shrinking this year... I've dropped everything but Legion and Supreme Power... and if Zarda doesn't get some clothes on soon, well...

Here's some interesting news (from Comic Book Resources): As promised, this weekend Hasbro announced that DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures would team up with the toymaker to develop a live-action, motion picture based on the globally popular Transformers franchise. Steven Spielberg will executive produce. The film is slated for release in the summer of 2006. Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Constantine"), Don Murphy ("The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen") and Tom DeSanto ("X-Men" and "X2: X-Men United") are attached to produce. Superhero Hype has the whole press release. .... "Spielberg?!?!" niiiiiice

The ones I'm most looking forward to seeing are Prowl who's my fav and since he's Optimus' right hand I'm mostly assured he'll be there. The other one is Sideswipe (I mean, he's a Lamborghini Countache and that's a cool-ass car!) Oh! and Soundwave too! I have little doubt he'll be there, but they gotta have that voice from the cartoon!

I'm really looking forward to seeing them all. I hope the guys who did the voices for Prime, Megatron, and Starscream come back. Everyone else would be great as well, but I consider those three to be kind of essential.
And the thought of seeing Laserbeak and Ravage popping out of Soundwave in full CGI glory gives me happy shivers of joy.

I'm excited, yet cautiously skeptical! As we all are whenever anything we're a fan of comes into play. I'm glad they seem to be sticking to a G1 homage and with the names attached, I have high hopes for all the original favorites!
E-gads, Kippers, I hope they can get some of the original voice actors (or at least decent substitutes). It's about time Frank Welker and Peter Cullen got a chance to reprise their Optimus & Megatron roles.
Alas, Starscream's voice actor (Chris Latta) died a few years ago! But there's always whoever voiced the Starscream on the recent Armada show or Doug Parker, who voiced Terrorsaur and Starscream in Beast Wars!

I'm sorry to have broken the news to you, KP! I always seem to be the bearer of bad news. I actually was a little off on my years. Chris Latta (Starscream/Wheeljack/Sparkplug) died a decade ago in June of a cerebral hemmorage, according to the International Movie Database. This is probably one of the drawbacks of being such a fan of a show that was on 20 years ago. So many of the original series' voice actors have died already, some recently but several back around the time the show was still on the air! Scatman Crothers (Jazz), Don Messick (Ratchet/Gears), Ed Gilbert (Blitzwing/Thrust), Roger Carmel (Cyclonus), Robert Stack (Movie Ultra Magnus), and Tony Sampson (A-3) all come to mind as already having passed on. I'll miss 'em all!

I knew about Scatman Crothers and Robert Stack, and I was even considering posting something about how much I'll miss Scatman as the voice of Jazz...
I guess I always thought it odd that Chris Latta never got to any cons, in the back of my head. I should have put two and two together. Well, here's to the guy behind Starscream and Cobra Commander, two of the most distinctive nellie uber-villains in cartoon history!

One and the same, Beagz! According to the IMDb at any rate. He has quite the resume of acting and voice work. KP, Jazz (and Scatman Crothers) is one of my favorites! Belated or not, it's never too late to give the man some props.
