I think the guy on the right is that dead metal guy from the x men. He's been hiding in the future trying to join a real super hero team and when he failed slunk back to old Xavier.

Ugg. I have that "Short-lived academy" story from the Showcase series. Boy did it stink. Even more than wet Cannus

I really liked that story actually! I liked all three of those Academy members too! Tomb would've made a great Legion villain I think. And I was glad to see Cannus get props by being one of the final 5 selections in the Legion Try-Outs issue.
The other Showcase Legion story with Gim, Gates and Jenni versus Holdur and Quicksand was also great. And wasn't there another one with Gim, Gigi and Shvaugn about the Science Police? I enjoyed that one too.
I really miss that series!

Images can be found here . Tom McCraw wrote it, Roberto Flores pencilled it, and John Lowe inked it.

Dang. I thought this was gonna' be about the animated series. Quicksand's costume looks painful. No wonder she's evil.

[/b]Actually, that's a bit of an assumption that his logo says "Instructor". From context I would say that is actually "Obstructor" King, the lad with the ability to spontaneously create elaborate obstacle courses.

I got this kid from Neil Vokes at Wild Pig Comic Con. I nicknamed him Hazmat. ![[Linked Image]](http://cdn.comicartfans.com/Images/Category_43771/subcat_90046/Hazmat%20by%20Neil%20Vokes.jpg)

![[Linked Image]](http://www.legionworld.net/ubb/Avatars/Cadet11.gif) "May have been a valley girl Negative Man. Similar powers without the drawback of leaving your helpless body behind." - Chris Batista I think a nice codename would be "Quinkan". It's the name of these shapeshifting, shadowy night spirits that are from Aboriginal/Australian folklore.

That's certainly not something we see a lot of, Australian Aborigine-inspired heroes! Even less those not tied to the Dreamtime (Talisman, Gateway)!

Guy on the right could be Aluminum Al. His powers were that he maintained the properties of Aluminum. Agree with guy on the left. Creates a six foot cube where gravity doesn't work Great for letting little kids play in.

Thanks Eryk! The blond-haired guy is later seen super big, I think. And could the blasting Orange skinned girl possibly be Mandala? The one I really would like to know more about is the flying girl in the far back. I can't really make out any of her look and I don't think she's ever in another image? I really can't even tell what color her hair is here. And is that a cape?

Mandalla's skin tone and hair are a decently close match to blasty girl with the long green hair, but I'm not sure if that's how her powers (which are to "project a thought sphere to engulf her target, causing hallucinatory, distorting effects by interfering with one's bio-electrical system") were manifested. I'm not sure we ever saw her use her powers either.

Is Mandalla not orange? Have I been seeing that color wrong my whole life? Have always thought she was part Titanian, part Tamaranean...
