... long weekends! Oh, the places I could go... two long weekends so far this year, and two places crossed off my bucket list.
First, the mountain city of Sagada, with its hanging coffins and a six-hour cave trek that submerged me in cold water to my waist.
Second, a trip to the wonderful Hundred Islands, with its cave swimming and snorkeling.

...the use of the colon and the semi-colon. There is an interesting use for the colon: it hightlights what is to follow. The semi-colon can bridge two independent clauses; however, few people take advantage of it.
