Well, the fellow who designed it is a prominent long-term member of Cthulu's perennial Presidential campaign. FWIW. He sent me swag in exchange for some art of mine he liked. You can see mr_cleome wearing its mate . Though the designer has not confirmed it, I suspect these creatures have no true gender (as we humans would understand it) and reproduce much like retconned Durlans. FC:
