Here are mine, off the top of my head:

The worst LSH story ever? End of an Era.

The worst single issue? Legion of Super-Heroes #54, where all adults were suddenly retconned into 14-year-old dumb guys.

1) McCraw's Legion on the Run is the worst LSH story ever. bar none.

2) the Jamm Annual was pretty bad too.

3) Ze Tongue epitomized the worst of the Archie Legion.

4) Aside from the Reflecto saga (which was pretty much my intro to the LSH and so remains a guilty pleasure for me), anything between the Earthwar and Levitz' return was not the team's best.

5) Omen and the Prophet. That this followed the Great Darkness Saga still boggles my mind.

1) The Element Lad/ProFem debacle easily tops my list.

2) The issue where 3 SW6 Legionnaires get killed off for no good reason (KK, Projectra, Cham). More ridiculous shock/splatter during the 5YL.

3) Another vote for the Jamm Annual.

4) Conclusion of the Dark Circle Rising "saga". P.U.

5) That other Archie Legion story featuring Domino (?) out to kill Cosmic Boy. The bad guy was so mean, he took orders from a disgruntled dishwasher to try and off Rokk. Sheesh...

Honorable mention to the Mayavale misadventure. I'm sure there were other 5YL tales such as the Legion on the Run that would make my list, but I dropped the title before that and never read them.

Don't call Legion on the Run as 5YL - 5YL ends with Legion #39. From then on, it's 50 years BEFORE.

And obviously we disagree a lot in here. I forgot to add the entire Reboot as one of the worst Legion ever, including DnA. Nothing ever happened in there, except there was a snake and some cute tongues out.

Don't know if I have 5.

My least favorite Legion story would be the Blight story. Followed by Legion Lost.

1. The run Ditko penned. Totally unreadable and he made them all look like lifeless mannequins flashing peace signs. Ugh!

2. The reboot, I did kind of like it toward the end but the beginning until Legion Lost or so was just bad.

3. the (mopsball?) fill-in during the 5yl run

4. The current run

5. League of Super Assasins

The mind's ability to blank traumatic events is there for a reason. Thanks to all that reminded me of

It's possible to think a story is well-written, well-drawn and to see the quality of the piece while still disliking it intensely.

For example, I think the issue where Sun Boy died in the 5YL era was powerfully written with art that fit the story.

But I really dislike it.

I'd say hate if I thought that that Sun Boy had any connection besides his name to the character I read from the seventies and eighties. To me, he doesn't. At all.

So...

1. Death of 5YL Sun Boy.

2. LEGION LOST 9-12.

3. That issue shortly before DNA began where Element Lad was in a suit that was too big for him and ended with that cloying scene on a beach.

4. The issue where it was revealed that Atmos had been mentally influencing Nura.

5. The Dev-em as mad Titan native issue. Was that in a Superman annual?

The 2boot "Bizarro Legion" story -- now that was awful!

1 trial of Polar Boy - Giffen at his worst when trying to be funny

2 Destruction of Earth - Giffen at his most vindictive

3 Element Lad/ProFem - TMK with an awful retcon

4 Subs special - another Giffen piss-take

5 the whole eat it grandpa plot - Waid at his worst. A universe that has the Khunds, Dominators etc etc but doesn't need heroes? yeah right.

...and that doesn't include Dr Mayavale/Reflecto Saga/retcon of Quantum Kid/End of an Era/the whole reboot concept/Levitz's why the Legion are still called Boy & Girl issue/Space Circus/Jamm annual/the 'elseworlds' annuals

1. The Legion's genocidal complicity in Mark Waid's last issue of the threeboot.

2. The Legionnaires series until the reboot--taking the previously worthwhile SW6 Legionnaires and making them modern-stupid.

3. The "terrorforms" of the reboot Legion title--as though the simple concept of evolution wasn't already polluted by "intelligent design" nonsense.

4. Exploding clones (Ferro Lad & Invisible Kid) in Superboy starring the Legion of Super-Heroes--as true to simple science as hauling around a white dwarf star, but, personally, more irritating.

5. Invisible Kid's spurious resurrection--taking a meaningless death and making it more so.

4) Adventure Comics #319--Two old men from Throon kick the Legion's n(asses) ugh!
5) Death of Superboy--not the story, but the mere fact that the PTB at DC foisted it upon the proud history of the Legion...

1. Jamm-A horrendous attempt to reach the youth by being hip.
2. Prophet and Omen-Both story and art were indecipherable.
3. Dikto art-A legend whose style that just didn’t fit the Legion.
4. V5 #15-Teased us with Dawny, Blok and Legs Diamond on the cover, only pointed out how bad the Waid run is in comparison.

Oh, so many bad Legion stories, so little time...

1. End of an Era-I didn't think it was a bad story per se, it just made me take to my bed for days
2. Lord Romdur's Castle-Nothing like taking a really good Legion villain and trivilizing him.
3. Oh, it was some secret special, but the big revelation was that the Legion Headquarters was alive. That sure got ignored henceforth.
4. Crappy, I mean Sappy, uh no, HAPPY Harbor! Nothing like making a Legion team travel back in time and then tell really bad stories with D list team ups.
5. Back up Action stories. I don't recall any of them being good. I was really sorta sorry I went back and filled in that part of my collection.

I believe Giff did that because Karate Kid was from Earth, and Keith really, really seemed to hate Val a lot!

Looks like a good reason to me!

1)i don't remember the issue number but one was the issue were Bouncing Boy Duo Damsel & Element lad were fighting a Genie.
2)i think it was the a Legion Annual were Cosmic-boy led his version of the Subs to stop a Dominator threat.
3)a re-boot era story were Triad and Ferro were on this abaondoned ship with these aliens that were spitting out acid or something like that and you found out how much of a B***C purple triad was.
4)the re-boot era Bizzaro legion story
5)forgot the issue # but the title of the story was "will the last one to leave the planet please turn off the lights."

Hm...

Hard to pick.

1) Deaths of SW6 Jeckie, Cham and Val. Pointless.

2) The issue where the Legionnaires had to lie to Superboy because they didn't want him to find out that future lifespans were greatly extended. Okayyyyyyy.....

3) The two-part DNA story where Sensor "evolved". What I hated: I was really hoping Kinetix would revert back to normal. The terrorforming was okay at first, but...

Also, a lot of the Legionnaires were kinda stupidly used.

Star Boy could have floored the Ra's clones. But nooooo, I'll just stand here and wait for one of them to konk me on the head.

Kinetix can survive space, but an overloading blaster took her out?

Shikari almost giving in to Ra's.

M'Onel couldn't beat Ra's? Come onnnn. There wasn't even any red or orange sunlight.

At least Gates put up a fight.

4) Teen Titans/Legion special.

5) Eat it Grandpa moments. Especially jerk Ultra Boy.

**The trial of Star Boy. I was really annoyed at Brainy here. Come on, Thom was about to get blasted, if I were in that situation I wouldn't be looking around for a tree branch to drop on my attacker. Sorrrrrrrrrry Brainy, that not all of us have as fast a brain as you do.

I don't have issue numbers at hand but...

Timberwolf's drug habit...yuck...from eating fruit?

The backup story that showed us how the Tornado Twins were killed by Dominators. Another yuck. Does Giffen have something against the Flash Legacy too?

I hated the Space Circus passionately, that story and Ditko's art actually made me drop the Legion from my reading list (and despite some other bad stories here and there that's the ONLY time I've ever done that)

The Fatal Five Billion was infinitely annoying. I (almost) liked the TT/Legion mini but the TT/Legion Special was space drek.
