Wow, go away for a month and merit a "Welcome Back".

As a mom of a VERY ACTIVE two-year-old, I probably will not post here very often. And while I have enjoyed being a Woman of Mystery, I guess I ought to just come out and say why I showed up here.

Some of you may know me.

I killed Cookie Monstress in exactly the same way that Darth Vader killed Anakin Skywalker.

Got it?

I was in High School when they killed Monstress. I didn't like it. I even changed my posting name to Kirsten Flagstad for awhile (because it ain't over 'til the Fat Lady sings) until I just gave up on comic books altogether.

On the other hand, it was good preparation for when J. K. Rowling killed Dumbledore.

Nowadays, as a K-1 teacher, I am literarally more into Mo Willems ...

If you google Cookie Monstress, there are hundreds of people and businesses going by that name now. But I was the original.

Five-foot-two*
Furry and blue
And just like Tenzil
I can eat anything
And I usually do.

* But I'm four-eleven, really.

Wow! This is awesome! Here's a "real" welcome back for ya.

Wow! I love getting to meet the folks I've only heard about from before I joined! The LMB has such a rich history!

Is the "Hojo" part of your name an homage to the late, great Howard Johnson's chain?

Dang. She never came back. Next time, I'll have to come up with trendier dairy packaging.

Perhaps if we get Paul Levitz to bring Monstress back, she'll come back too!

Cobalt Legion: Just for kicks a few months ago, I decided to look up the old DC message boards again, but I guess DC doesn’t like message boards anymore. Anyway, I found this and yes, I guess I was a member of these boards, too, once upon a time.
But if you are an old friend, Cobalt Legion, you have changed your name enough so that I don’t recognize you.

Calamity Legion: A legend? Are you saying I am some kind of an Articuno, Zapdos, or Voltres? I am real. I am.

Spider Flower Legion: Thank you for the welcome back gift. I do love milk and cookies.
However, as a mom, I actually manufactured my own milk for about six months, which was way awesome. Did you know it's blue?

One of the reasons I took the name Cookie Monstress on the boards was because of my uncanny ability to EAT ANYTHING and not gain weight.
Oh, I know the Bulimia Girls always say the same thing, but I really do think that there really is something weird about by metabolism.
But when I was pregnant with The Boy I managed to put on around 40 lbs! Mostly from Coldstone. I was so happy!
Lost it all right away, though.

Naturally, another reason I took the name Cookie Monstress is because both Monstress and Cookie Monster are just awesome.

Penguin Legion: “Hojotoho Heiaha” is actually the opening aria of the third act of “The Valkyrie”, part of the Richard Wagner’s “Ring of the Nibelungen” operatic trilogy. Sung by Brunhilda, it introduces the classic “Ride of the Valkyries” orchestral piece. It was introduced to the Americas in the 1930’s by the Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad , the greatest operatic soprano of her time.
Ms. Flagstad, in fact, is the stereotypical cliche incarnate of all operatic sopranos, and her likeness has appeared in, among other places, the Ghostbusters cartoon. But you knew that.

I like Howard Johnson’s OK, but the last time I was there, DH spent a good half hour in the bathroom with The Boy teaching him to throw up into the toilet, and not onto the floor. It seems that HJ’s food is just too greasy for The Boy’s delicate baby tummy.
Ironic, huh?

Invisible Green Legion: They haven’t brought Monstress back yet? I thought everybody in comics came back eventually except Bucky.
Besides, I don't think you can "make" Paul Levitz do anything.
If she does ever come back, then next time they need to make her blue.
And furry.
With googly eyes.
And an addiction to Oreos.

Wow. I am so overwhelmed. So many <strike>fans</strike> old friends. I should start a blog.

Alas, they haven't - though Monstress is alive and well in several pieces of fan fiction on these boards such as the 21st Century Legion universe

Perhaps Monstress and Tenzil can go on a quest to bring down the makers of inferior cookies everywhere!

Hate to break this to you, Cookie Monstress, but Marvel brought Bucky back several years ago, and he now has his own book as the "Winter Soldier".

So...do you remember any of us from all those years ago? If so, what craziness do you recall?

Hellohello! I as well am a newer member, right after Poet.

Some of you might know me from the facebook page, when I still lurked there. I was the Brainiac Five cosplayer from Megacon. I'm pleased to say my makeup application was oodles better at Toracon, so yay for improvement?

Anyways, yes, introductions.

I might be the baby of this site at just being a few months short of sixteen. I love to do art, particularly illustration/animation/sequential art, and hope to pursue a major in the career! My favorite legionnaires are the resident Brainiac, Shikari, Invisible Kid, Gear, Kid Quantum... Why did I start even listing, I like a whole lot of legionnaires! My favorite continuity has to be Post-Zero hour, though. First exposures stick! I've been an active fan of the Legion of Superheroes for over a year now, and have yet to tire of it. Though I have branched out to read IMPULSE, the 2009-2010 run of R.E.B.E.L.S., the original run of Young Justice, and I'm just beginning to get my hands on some Flash comics. Aaand I'm also one of the staffers at Poet's Legion roleplay site!

That seems about it. It's absolutely wonderful to find some Legion fans. Geez, do you know how hard those are to find? Even at cons, I was mistaken for Beast Boy. So yes, absolutely lovely to meet all of you!
