Yay! Legionworld NEEDS more Pratchett fans. and MARS NEEDS COFFEE!!!
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

Such as the Iris, the close up, etc. But since Griffith has the stink of controversy about him, DeMille seemed the better choice.

I' a huuuuge Eisner fan, but I have to admit his earliest portrayals of Ebony and other African-Americans made me wince. Not to Griffith melevolence, but still... only judging in the context of the times - and his later strides to do better - can I rationalize it.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Been a member for some time but finally decided, after a bit of recent lurking, to join up offical-like.
Name: Seems a bit personal t'me but you seem like good eggs so call me Kit. Age: Only as old as I feel. Where you live: Banished to the States. What you do: Piss around a lot.
Legion info (favorite characters, creators, stories, eras; when you started reading; etc.): Started reading with the reboot. Liked it well enough but lost interest in The Legion. Started again with the 3boot. Loving it. Isn't Cos just the most brilliant wanker ever? Favorite characters - Tinya but not with Jo, Jo but not with Tinya, Imra, Brin, Rokk, Jazmin (also not together), Luorna, Lyle... the list goes on. Favorite creator - Waid would have to apply, I suppose, since he's dragged me into the Legion more than once. Probably Farmer, too, for writing Superboy's Legion. Bloody amazing that was. Favorite stories - White Triangles, Legion of the Damned, and Legion Worlds to name a few.
Other things you like (movies, books, music, etc.): I enjoy a variety of comics, movies, books and music but, in the interest of brevity, I think I'll just share one of each. Favorite comic - No, it's not Legion, it's actually Next Wave. Ellis is a talented pissant if I ever did see one. Favorite book - Don't get a lot of reading in but maybe Heart of Darnkess. Don't ask why, I don't even know. Favorite movie - Schindler's List, though V for Vendetta came close to dethroning it. I must have a thing about totalitarian regimes. Favorite music - OK Go, no contest.
Anything else that you want to share: I think that's enough. Cheers Legion World!

OK, I've been away for so long, maybe I should update...
Name: Michael Age: 37... damn, I am getting old! Where you live: Los Angeles, westside What you do: I mostly rue the day I decided to become a lawyer; however, I have a dream job as general counsel to a public company where I can wear shorts and flip-flops to work and bring my dog with me. Pet: Ripley VonHaunches, a 2-year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Legion info: Started reading around #262 or so, and was immediately taken with seeing Cosmic Boy and Dream Girl in their underwear in that exact issue. They have been my favorite Legionnaires ever since, but I think the #262 underwear thing is just a coincidence in that regard. My first subscription issue was the beginning of the Reflecto story, and a subscription was the only way I was ever gonna get any comic back then.
Favorite characters - Well, Cos and Dreamy. Also, Jan & Dirk & Lu. And Rond Vidar.
Favorite creator - Levitz & Giffen & Bierbaums, and I grow more and more fond of DnA as time passes.
Favorite stories - Great Darkness! Levitz's last Emerald Empress story! The first year and half or so of v4! Legion Lost!
Other things you like (movies, books, music, etc.): Favorite comic - Historically, Legion and Zot! and Miracle Man. Currently, Young Avengers and just about anything Grant Morrison does and Lucifer Favorite book - John Irving's 80s output, and some of his 90s output. Frank Herbert's Dune, and some of the sequels. Favorite movie - Blade Runner & Blue Velvet & LotR Favorite music - Historically: Blur, Saint Etienne, ABBA, Depeche Mode; Current: Franz Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Graham Coxon TV: Buffy, Battlestar Galactica, Strangers with Candy, Simpsons
Cheers!
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

It did seem that Eisner matured artistically out of that phase.

I don't think poetry is really my forte. But it was relatively fun, so I suppose, in the end, it was worth the toil.

How does one become a 'ghost of', anyhow? [/b]Hi Mek. Have you ever seen the film 'Aliens'? it's one of my favourite ever films. I used it for the basis of a OneVision story that I wrote last year called 'Dragons'. It was based around myself, my brother Sonnie Bloke, good friend Harbinger and various other people who popped up in previous stories I had written. If you want to search it out and read it (it's quite a lengthy read) then I won't tell you exactly how I die (I don't think that's giving too much away) so as not to spoil the surprise. However - if you aren't going to read it ... S P O I L E R remember Bishop? 'Nuff said. So no, I've not always been a ghost. There's also another thread of my post-Dragons ongoing journey to Hell in 'Numf and Sonnie Go To Hell On A Pushbike' over on the Bits forum. Just don't expect a piece of serious literature. Cheers, Numf

Hi, walkwithcrowds here.
I've spent the last couple of weeks reading through this lot and now feel that I "know" a lot of you much better. As I've read it in a condensed time frame it's easier to see older names that haven't ben around for a while or have been quieter recently...speak up guys, the more the merrier (and knowing this crowd, there'll be smutty jokes in reply to that saying on the way).
My name is John (Hi!) I've already covered my comic reading history in a previous post at Welcome walkwithcrowds and if you really are interested you can read it there. While your there add a post as a way to sign my "visitors book", I'm hoping to get a "signature" from all 1045 members.
My favorite comics are: The Flash (my all time favorite) Doctor Strange and The Legion and Daredevil kinda jostle for third place.
That's only "mainstream" comics, I don't count Vertigo, horror, humour stuff in that. If I did Hellblazer would be number two and Groo the Wanderer would be four.
My first issue of the Legion was #1 of 5YL and I was hooked from the beginning. Since then I've managed to buy a complete run from when "Superboy and.. " became just "The Legion" and I'm working my way back.
My favorite Legionnaires are (and remember I'm biased toward 5YL versions of these characters) Cosmic Boy, Brainy and Matter Eater Lad (Trust me, I'm a Senator!).
In the "other stuff" category?
I'm a big reader, Michael Moorcock, David Gemmel, P.G. Wodehouse, Raymond Chandler, Terry Pratchett, Arthur Conan Doyle, Douglas Adams, Kenneth Grahame, Robert Rankin and Philip K Dick are a few of my favorite writers.
Films:(in no particular order) BladeRunner, It's a Wonderful Life, Fight Club, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Aliens, Annie Hall, Stir Crazy, The Haunting (original version) The Raiders of the Lost Ark and Little Shop Of Horrors (The Musical Version)
I'm from Glasgow so it's pretty much a given that I like a booze up, but I've been cutting back a lot recently. I still enjoy a good night out and a party but I tend to dance more and I'll give the karaoke a go, if I don't get Boo'ed off.
I'm not too sure how to post a photo of myself here but I promise to do it as soon as I figure out how. Till then, I'm about 5'5, don't know my weight but I'm slim, have cropped dark brown hair, one blue eye and one brown eye, high cheek bones, all my own teeth and a beautiful wee bum.
Oh the name walkwithcrowds comes from a poem called IF by Rudyard Kipling and I first saw it in an old Secret Origins annual on the Flash. In the story Wally says it was Barrys' favorite poem. It is an amazing poem and it had a very big effect on me, I've got it framed and on my wall.
That's it. If I think of anything else I'll get back to you.
I want to finish off by saying thanks to everyone here as you've all been really freindly and fun. And a special thanks to Quislet Esq who has been my own personal mentor...You're my Yoda, man.
Love John
Be lucky

Hi I'm back again. Y'know how I said I would try and post a photo of me when I figured out how? Well let's give it a try. If it worked I want to thank Cobie for his help. If it didn't work then it's my fault for being thick.
