I bet raisins would be good. The cheese might make it too rich for me, though.

As I said upthread, my Mom loved to impress us kids by embedding a couple of whole hard-boiled eggs in the meatloaf before baking it. Then each slice of loaf would have a slice of egg, too. (I can't make that now, because mr_cleome thinks hard-boiled eggs are horrible.)

I prefer cooking eggs and mixing the yolk into the meat, myself. Hmmm, I wonder how that would go over...

My girlfriend and I have twice gone to a local restaurant noted for its Meatloaf Benedicts. Both times, they were out of meatloaf!
