Random suggestion to fix something nobody complained about:
How about changing the name of the thread to "Monthly Hot 100 ...etc" or "Hot 100 of the Month...etc" so as to distinguish it from the annual chart?

I like some of the new (or at least new as in "I never noticed them before") things such as "top ten of the month" which seems to be for the highest number of posts this month. Though I don't know of only those already otherwise on the chart get included in that. Younguns like me could still make it onto some part of the chart if we count for that ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif) .

I'm just glad that last month's MacDeprivation didn't hurt my post count as badly as I thought. ![gasp gasp](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/gasp.gif)

I just didn't think it could get any better than that so I stopped there.

Previous charts were maintained sporadically by different posters. As a result, this chart reflects the most complete information I have. So, you are on 41 charts over a nine-year period. [/b]Sorry i missed that. A bit confusing that it is included at all then, but whatever. No worries.

Younguns like me could still make it onto some part of the chart if we count for that .SS, I felt the same way a while back when I first started posting a lot. There was a month or two when my post count would have put me in the Top Ten of the Month list, but alas, I wasn't in the top 100 yet. It's like putting in your work in the minor leagues before you get called up to the majors. Besides, if you are posting steadily it won't take long to hit the top 100 because the great majority of the folks with you are posting very little. That said, numbers aren't everything. My post count has surpassed those of some of our most insightful and entertaining members. I'd rather read one of their posts than 100 of mine.

Smilies cannot hide the connotations of words such as "misleads" and "incomplete to the point of inaccuracy." You really ought to consider your word choices and how they come across.

The other thread is called "Legion World HOT 100 OF THE YEAR (UPDATED FOR [current year])," and, since the lists therein appear only once a year, I thought the distinction was already clear.

I'd rather read one of their posts than 100 of mine.[/b]Agreed on both counts. I actually considered adding you to the Top 10 of the Month Club, SS, if you had posted enough. But, alas, your 73 posts, while impressive, did not make the grade. I also feel it's important to cut the line off somewhere, and, while I monitor the rankings down No. 150 (to see who else is likely to enter the Hot 100 in the future), someone who ranks lower might feel slighted for not being included. So it's probably best to restrict the Top 10 of the Month Club to the present Hot 100. And, as LT said, numbers aren't everything. Quality over quantity.

I meant to say that the other thread's subject line is clear, but this thread saying "2012 edition" at first glance seems to be referring to something annual, that's all.
So if this one said "Hot 100 of the Month -- 2012 Edition" just as that one says "of the year", well then there isn't even that temporary confusion (such as I had until I caught on).
