I've tried it as well, but I think you have to upload it somewhere, like on your blog, and THEN use the image command.

A few minutes ago, I was able to preview the image. Now, I only get the URL. How come? confused

I've been experimenting with this again, and, for some reason, when I paste the URL from Upload File Form into the Image command, it won't post the image. It only posts the URL.

Am I doing something wrong?

Instead of the Upload File Form, I used the Image button in the Full Reply Form recently and put the image's URL there. That seems to work.

Sorry, meant to say also that it works when the image is hosted remotely, like at photobucket, imageshack, or flickr.

There's a storage limit to files you post directly here to LW, so perhaps you went over the limit?

When I post your URL directly into the browser address bar, the image comes up. Even has stars on it for Kent and Lightning Lad!

I haven't tried hosting my images remotely, and I'm not sure I want to go to that much trouble, but thanks for the explanation.

I used the Upload File Form and then the Image command when I posted the above image, and it worked then, though not initially. I'm not sure what changed this time--surely the stars (a feature I'm experimenting with) wouldn't have exceeded the storage limit.

It's not a limit per post, it's a total limit for all the images you're hosting directly on Legion World.

Not that this is necessarily the problem, but just so we're on the same page with what I'm checking.

Honestly, the image-o-vision format's just... clunky and harder to scan.

Also, I'm not sure about the extra columns, since they're based on a relatively limited selection of data (I was in the top 10 at one point, you know tongue )

Being the chart junkie I am, I'd love to do something similar to the Hot 100 at Billboard.com . It lists this week's position, last week's position, weeks on chart, and highest position--the sort of information I've tried to include.

The only major difference here is that only a few posters change positions each month, so the "this month" and "last month" positions for most are the same (a redundancy eliminated by the current format). At the least, I want to include the total number of chart appearances and highest position features (which would ensure everyone knows forever that you were in the Top 10, Reboot. tease )

Anyway, it's something to play with. smile

Also, unfortunately, the highest position I have for you is No. 11. Chart data is incomplete from 2004 to 2009. frown

Well that would only work as long as Reboot is in the top 100, though I suppose you can have an addendum for former Top 100-ers.

Wow, i have only been on the chart for less than 3.5 years? I tend to think of 2005-2009 as my busiest time here, prior to the past half-year or so.

41 chart appearances does not equal less than 3.5 years, Kent. As I explained a few pages ago, chart data for some years are incomplete:

Quote
Some qualifications: I've been keeping track of the Top 40 since September 2009 and the rest of the Hot 100 since December 2010 (though I monitored the positions of certain posters before this). Previous charts were maintained sporadically by different posters. As a result, this chart reflects the most complete information I have.
So, you are on 41 charts over a nine-year period. smile

And this is why I objected - data which misleads because it is incomplete to the point of inaccuracy is worse than no data at all tongue

[Plus, it makes the table harder to read wink ]

IB passed me this month.

Yet he is still located below me on the list.

Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.
