I made last year's annual Hot 100, I'm not worried about making it onto one of the monthies. I'm sure Ill make 500 by the end of the week, so not bad for my first year.
I do play games and post to list threads, but only the ones that interest me and only when I have post something worth posting. And I don't even define "worth posting" all that strictly, but I don't want to post anything just for the sake of the numbers.

The Hot 100 rankings are just for fun. No one should feel obligated to post just to be listed there, and no one should post just for the sake of increasing his or her standing. (That's the official policy. Now, excuse me while I post some more to make sure I remain at No. 7.  )

I think the general consensus is, posting becomes a problem when - a) It's no longer fun, and becomes an obsession for the poster b) It severely limites the fun being had by OTHER posters (now, excuse me while I make a run for Time Trapper status! I'll take a break after I make it, I PROMISE )
