What, now we have to explain our posts? I've been using therapeutic free-association. Cheaper than a shrink. AtomGirl

I'm more likely to make Time Tripper, which would be much easier if my first name was Jack and I was the male lead in a 70's sitcom.

When I was little, I wanted a nightgown just like Janet's double-zero football jersey nightgown.

OMG, Kent, that's an awesome idea for a sitcom.

Makes me think of an old joke:

A conservative, a liberal, and a libertarian walk into a bar...

...darn, I can't remember how the rest goes.

Oh, sorry. Here's a sample "joke" for you:

Q: How many Libertarians does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: None. It is not their problem. The light will change itself if it wants to.</span></span>

That's a great one. Thanks, Cleome.

Who says people can't laugh at their own political affiliations?

Well, lest I be accused of bias:

Q. How many Marxists does it take to change a lightbulb? Gates

There's one going around lately (not one I personally find useful given its reliance on perceived labels that have largely been rendered useless):

A conservative, a liberal, and a moderate walk into a bar.

The bartender looks up and says, "Hi, Mitt!"

confused

I think I need more vodka to understand this one, Kent. (Not that I've been paying much attention to Romney's antics this year. Or any year.)

just his seeming ever-changing positions: a 'liberal' Republican Massachusetts governor, a conservative when campaigning in the primaries, and a supposed moderate at other times. To me, he's a corporatist first and throughout, but others are seeing/saying what they will about him.

He is a corporatist through and through who has put on every label when it was convenient. Others are seeing the constant changing and remarking truthfully on it.

This is not subjective remembrance of observers, they all play the tapes for us smile . It's the age of video, it's all recorded, so it's much harder to get away with self-contradiction and denial.

Everyone slips up on that from time to time, but Mitt has the most serious issue of self-identity I've ever seen. Didn't Jon Stewart catch him contradicting himself in the same sentence?

But I digress...

You guys bring up politics in the most unexpected threads.

I love how we carry our conversations here. From the Hot 100, to cleome's new job (hopefully), to our personal posting goals, to Mitt Romney. Totally awesome. You guys just got me interested in the coming US elections.

Hey, I'm very interested! If by "interested" you mean, "Prone to occasional, uncontrollable bursts of grotesque fascination."

It's like a slow-motion car crash. You know it's coming, you know it's going to be a bloody mess, and you know no good will come of it all. But it's hard to pretend you can't see it coming.
