"Foundations" reaches a deadly turning point as the mysterious Clark Kent finds his way to Smallville 3003 and Kid Quantum resigns as Legion leader. It all happens just in time for the reigniting of the fires of Apokolips and the rebirth of evils both ancient and new.

All I can say is: Kid Q resigns as leader?

That's a lot of stuff going on.

Sounds like a doozy of a storyline!

Gawd, can this mean that Kid Q will FINALLY step back out of the spotlight a little? I mean, nothing personal, but I am getting tired of seeing her ALL THE TIME! There are still sooooo many other Legionnaires that have seen very little air time since before La Lost.

Of course, she was never a favorite of mine anyways, so my judgement might be moderately clouded

Since Kid Q is stepping down, I thought it was apropos that we, the fans, take part in the selection of the new Legion leader! (Okay, I know TPTB probably don't listen to what we say... but I can dream!!!)

Anyway, vote here: Elect Kid Quantum\'s replacement!

Have we really seen Kid Q much lately? Other than making the bubble for Cub I can't think of much screen time, particularly for leader. Seems she has been leader for ages though.

GREAT cover, worthy of Darkseid. Now keep the titles and stuff less comspicuous and let the art sell the book!

HEY??? Weren't the dream crime covers supposed to fit together somehow? I can't get it to happen, particularly with those black banners across the bottoms of the pages (yeech)

I must say, I recall the original fight with The Mas....uh this Darkseid character. I do hope you young people have better luck handling him than your elder counterparts did.

My question is why does this solicitation refer to "the mysterious Clark Kent" as opposed to Superboy?

As I read this, the mysterious Clark Kent is someone other than the Superboy recent solicitations have refered to.

pocket universe Clark?
alt.reality Clark?
Kon-El?
Cub?
A new God?

Or is it just the same Superboy from recent solicitations with the name changed to Clark?

Well Clone-El is going by Connor so I don't think its him. I'm really not sure who this new 'Superboy' is supposed to be.

In the same month's solicitation (December) Clone is featured on the cover for the face off with the JLA. So are we getting an actualy 2nd Superboy in the DCU?

It must be a WB Smallville tie-in...

Why not? Weren't there like 3 or 4 Supergirl's floating about for the past few months (since the winding down of Peter David's book, and in the Superman books the past year. Whazzup with dat? So a few more Superboys ought to start dropping out of the sky any day now.

But if you were serious that would be the Clone. Since he has adopted a t-shirt and jeans he fits the Smallville image. Our Superboy is clearly wearing the good old red and blue with cape.

already? anyone who wants to bet on who the next Legion leader will be? My bet - Invisible Kid...he has not been spotlighted very well by DnA...so I think it's time...however I have an eerie feeling that it will be ....Sensor. ???

Umm... in the interest of fairness. She IS still a Legionnaire, after all.

Bit of a surprise there with Kid Quantum. I wonder why she's stepping down - tired? can't handle the job? feels it's someone else's turn? No idea who they'll put in her place.

S'what I was wondering too Cramey. Methinks something terrible is gonna happen of Jazmin's watch... but to whom?

This next storyline is shaping up to be a doozy!

Wouldn't the Legion Constitution would apply in these circumstances?

6.3 In the event of the resignation, expulsion, leave of absence, death or incapacity of:
(i) the Leader, the Deputy Leader shall become Leader and shall appoint a new Deputy Leader;
(ii) the Deputy Leader, the Leader shall appoint a new Deputy Leader; or
(iii) both the Leader and the Deputy Leader, the senior active member shall serve as temporary Leader, with a new Leader and Deputy Leader to be selected at the first opportunity in a manner conforming to the requirements of Sections 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 hereunder.

The question is, who is the current Deputy Leader? Rokk? I don't believe it was ever stated, but it's reasonable to assume that he was the one who received the most votes in the last election after Jazmin (in fact, Rokk is the only one we know received votes other than Jazmin). See section 8.4 of the Constitution, "the Legionnaire receiving the second-largest number of votes [will be] elected Deputy Leader."

If the Deputy is not able to assume the post, one of the most senior members would be expected to step in. In other words, there will probably be no election, and chances are very good that Jazmin's place will be filled by one of the founders.

P.S. They're really milking the Superboy mystery for all it's worth.

Maybe DnA have been listening to us after all. Let's see, this is the fourth of the 6 issues for the Foundation storyline so that give us 3 prior issues for whatever is going to cause her resignation to unfold. I can't wait!
