Trash day in my house is whenever I wear too short a pair of cutoffs and no shirt.

[prostrates self before Zod. Force of habit, don't you know... I've voted Zod every year since 2000.]

Sometimes you write the challenge fic. Sometimes the challenge fic writes YOU.

(If Sarcasm Kid were here, he'd know exactly what I was talking about. Harrumph.)

I never realized how much AFOB looks like Terrance Stamp.

The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Today is the birthday of Yuri Lowenthal, voice of Superman on the late, great LSH cartoon. He turns 38. Happy Birthday to someone who will never visit this board!

I use a lot of post-its at work. Usually it takes me about 2 days before looking at a post-it annoys the hell out of me and I have to complete the task and throw it away or figure out somewhere else to put it.

Not if he plans on continuing to deliver his lines with a straight face, anyway.

Anywayyy...

Here's the video for the most awesome song in the English language that's not by Those Darn Accordions. Yes, it's Robot Cat by Logan Whitehurst & the Junior Scientist Project (RIP).

I just checked my email for the first time in 3 days. Actually got a reply to my email to Dan DiDio about "why is Lo3W so spread out if it was supposed to coincide with Final Crisis, what are you doing to us fans," lots of question and exclamation marks.
Got an apology for taking so long to respond (2 months and a fairly innocuous 'the direction for the Legion will be whole lot clearer once Lo3W concludes.'

YOUHEAR THAT PEOPLE? IT'S GOING TO CONCLUDE! AND I MAY BE ALIVE TO SEE IT! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The Legion may be clearer at the end of 3worlds, but they'll just confuse everything again with the 'Faces of Evil' and 'Origins & Omens' books!
sigh

The kids I work with in 6th grade are learning the same thing about shapes that my oldest son is now learning in his first year at college.
Maybe a little more in depth, maybe not.

The world is so strange.

Experience is good.
Also informative.
Then, there's networking.
You might get surprised, AFOB.

How does one fall asleep while singing during worship service? Repeatedly? Through prayer AND Bible study?

I'm not nearly as strict as I should be with my little puppy. My wife is though. But I kind of like when the little guy gets into trouble. I know thats so bad too! But he's really great with people and other dogs, and he's a whopping 9 pounds, so all he does is just bite stuff.

Humans have 7 cervical (neck) vertebrae. So do giraffes, they're just a wee bit larger.

Such an incredibly gifted artist!
Damn Hitler and his death camps.
sigh

The artists who recorded the horrors of that era were such heroes/heroines.

Kollwitz lost a son in WWI and a grandson in WWII. Though not Jewish, she was still branded a "degenerate artist" by Hitler near the end of her life. An affluent patron offered to buy her way out of Germany, IIRC from reading her bio, but she wouldn't go;Was afraid of what would happen to the rest of her family.

...Longest Note Held In A Hit
This record is held by Morten Harket, lead singer with group A-Ha. In "Summer Moved On" (no. 33, June 2000) he holds a vocal note for 20.2 seconds.

Runner-up, and the man responsible for the longest note held on a solo single is Bill Withers. In his 1978 (and 1988) hit "Lovely Day", he holds a vocal note for 18 seconds. We're told that the note is the 'E' above 'middle C'.

The longest note held by a woman is found in "Dim All The Lights," Donna Summer's 1979 hit (16 seconds).

It is worth pointing out that a number of recent dance tracks have utilized digital 'stretching' techniques to give the impression of extended vocals. We have management / record company confirmation that the notes being held in the above tracks were all done in 'real time' and represent genuine vocal skill.
Found here .

Is it just me, or is Morten Harket just about the coolest real name in show business since the heyday of Joshua Quagmire ?
