My alma mater was originally the Portia Law School. Named after the character from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, it was an all-women law scholl until 1938. The name was changed in 1969.

I've been watching a lot of Yes videos lately. They released their first album in 1969.

I'm traveling through Europe next week on business, which is awesome, but that means I have to travel Sunday and work on Labor Day, which sucks! Plus, its two weeks before the wedding and Lady Cobalt is not exactly thrilled I'll be gone for a week.

I did not know that two of the auf'ed designers on this season of Project Runway became boyfriends. They do make a cute couple too.

Met the DJ for the wedding tonight for a few beers (not met for the first time, we've been friends for several years). Expressed my desire for a lot of motown and other 60's music!

Cobie, if you're doing a 60's set, you can't possibly not have a special dance to "You and Me and a Dog Named Boo."

At my friend Brian's wedding, we made the DJ play the theme from Peanuts and we all danced like the Peanuts gang. That is we all just maded one repetative movement.

That's a great, bouncy, fun song for a happy occasion. They played that at a friend's wedding recently -- the bride was dancing with her father.

Sorry to disappoint you all, but the lyrics are "Build me up Buttercup", not "Fill me up, Buttercup". It's about a callous woman building up false expectations, not satiating unmentionable appetites.

"Why do you build me up Buttercup baby,

Just to let me down ..."

When I was a kid, I thought it was about a girl named Sylvia Buttercup. ("Why do you, Sylvia Buttercup Baby?")

The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

That reminds me of a story from the book I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can. She claimed they played that old song "It's the wrong time/it's the wrong place/'though your face is lovely/it's the wrong face" when she first danced with her new husband at their wedding reception.

Yesterday I went to the last Yankees/Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium. It was a pretty boring game until the 7th inning when it turned hella-awesome and the Yankees pulled off a great win!

One problem: I'm sunburned like a *%$%&%*$#* on my forearms, knees and to a lesser degree, face. The knees are killing me the most.
