Only 55% of Americans know that the sun is a star.

Also 63% of statistics are made up smile

The quote "There are lies, damn lies - and statistics." is usually attributed to Mark Twain. However, he attributed the quote to Benjamin Disraeli.

Today I witnessed a fight between a business woman and a surly 7-11 worker on a jaunt to the 7-11 in search of Gatorade (hangover)...
The woman in question, clad in Prada, was cradling a sparrow in her hands, A highly distressed sparrow with no apparent injuries...
For some unknown reason Prada Woman had taken it into her mind that aforementioned Sparrow needed to be put into a styrofoam coffee mug. Presumably to be taken home and fed to her cat...I don't really know.
Surly 7-11 employee was having none of it. He intended to charge Prada Woman $1.85 for the cup.
A fight ensued, lasting for roughly 15 minutes, ending in Prada Woman stating that she was going to "Today Tonight", A local current affairs prgram, to tell them of 7-11's policy of not giving out free styrofoam cups for emergency bird transportation.
It amused me to no end...but then...most things do.
True story.

Joeboy's story reminded me of several customers that regularly come into the pet store where I'm a cashier. This one guy comes in every week with his cat on a leash. He never says a word to me, or to anyone else, but is constantly talking to his cat. And I mean long, serious conversations, even though they're pretty much one-sided...

How did a fight over a styrofoam cup for bird transportation remind me of a crazy cat guy? Well, only I know the answer to that...

For some reason my homepage is set to the AOL Canada newspage. I don't live in Canada, and I didn't set my homepage to that site...so it's a bit puzzling. hmmm

I'd blame the producers of Due South. Anything Canadian in Chicago is their fault.

I had the most wonderful dream about the first boy who ever asked me to dance, in the 8th grade. In my dream we were all grown up, and he looked remarkably like Adam Baldwin. And we weren't dancing. I want to go back to sleep now...

In some cultures having a romantic dream involving any of the Baldwin brothers portends certain doom. Unless it's Stephen, in which case it just means you need to get out more.

I picked up my very first Credit Card today, And have bought far too many items of clothing online. But clearly I needed a "More Cowbell" Hoody. Everybody needs more cowbell.

Actually, Adam Baldwin is not one of the Baldwin brothers. No relation. So I'm safe. wink

Well, of course I'm happy to know you won't fall victim to the Baldwin Bros. Dream Kiss of Death Curse, but I have to admit I was a little bummed when I realized that the supply of fresh Baldwin brothers will probably run out in my lifetime.

The only things taxi drivers in India will slow down for are cows and goats.
