That would be about right. The travel agents only sent out word about Long Beach a few days ago.

Still it would be nice to come to Boston in September.
I really enjoyed the Bristol Convention last year.

Just so everyone knows. I checked with my roommate and it would be OK for 2 people (possibly 3) to use floor space to sleep for the convention. I do have a futon mattress and another mattress & some pillows for use. Blankets & sheets, you'd need to bring.
Around September, PM me about staying at my place

It looks like I'm definitely going to be able to make this one. I had to put in my vacation time yesterday and made my boss let me use her computer so I could find out the dates for this convention. I chose dates around the convention.

Is there a campground nearby?? I just got a camper and I might be able to talk the wife into going. The baby will be 3 months old by then.

I don't know where the nearest campground would be. I'm sure a google search can tell you.

I was just reviewing this topic and realized that I never answered this question! Sorry, didn't mean to be rude . Originally posted by CreativityKid: Bike-Man, where in RI are you? I live in East Providence, a few blocks from Route 195.

So, do any of the locals have travel tips, hotel recommendations, etc. I'll be coming in to North station on the Downeaster.

There is a Double Tree Hotel right by the Convention center. Depending on when the Downeaster gets in, I could meet you at North Station and show you how the subway works.

Quis,
Can you provide a phone # for the Double Tree? I'd like to call and check on rates.
Is North Station far from the convention center? Will I really need to use the sybway?

617-822-3600 for Doubletree. Here\'s the hotel site Here\'s the con center site , which says "The Bayside Expo and Executive Conference Center is just one mile from downtown Boston without all the hassle and with plenty of parking. An easy exit off the Southeast Expressway (I-93)--- located and next to the Commuter Rail and the JFK/UMass stop on the MBTA makes Bayside easily accessible for Event attendees, exhibitors and freight delivery... The MBTA Red Line and Old Colony (Plymouth/Kingston and Middleboro/Lakeville) Branch of the commuter rail system both stop at the UMass/JFK station directly across the street from us." and Here\'s the subway map North Station is where the green and orange lines meet (the northern of the two) and JFK/UMass is where the two red branches meet in the southeast, so you have to change at either Park (green) or Downtown Crossing (orange). The Con Center's at 200 Mt Vernon St; the hotel's at 240 Mt. Vernon. You can see how close they are here.

I prefer the Green Line to the Orange line (Greater frequency of trains - in general, less walking when going to the Red Line)

So far, I've found two state campgrounds. One you need a boat to get to, but This one is probably more practical , although its 14.3 miles away.
