Although he had the misfortune of drawing the New Teen Titans during the decline in Marv Wolfman's writing, his art was always above and beyond the call of duty.

He really was a fantastic artist. I'm still mystified that he never became a bigger name in comics than he did.

Thanks for all the wonderful Titans memories, Mr. Baretto. Rest well.

That Martian Manhunter: American Secrets mini has some *beautiful* Barreto art in it. But man, that story has a downer of an ending.

Earlier this morning, I re-read Eduardo Barreto's first two NTT issues: Baxter 13-14; the former is the CoIE tie-in, the latter features Donna investigating a Raven sighting, Vic and Gar arguing, and Dayton going ape-poo, among other things. Wolfman seems to have been well into his writer's block by this point, but by all the Godesses and Gods, Barreto's Titans art was stellar from the get-go, some of the classiest superhero art ever published.
Barreto is very much missed. Wherever he is now, I hope he's happy. He more than earned it with all the joy he brought to readers.
