As I've progressed, I hope, I've realized that the first Garths that I did failed to follow SarK's design much, as shown in the drawing.
So, I made a new one.
I've also updated the original two, a little.
I'm done with these Garths now, but I do have the Ninja Garth in the works.
It's complicated so I might do a few others before finishing him.

Lord knows I have quite a few projects to finish and I have a new project/thread that I'd like to start this fall.

This Garth was pretty fun working out from the drawing - the nose is longer in the tip in the drawing so I changed the 3 to match it.
The hair and face aren't exact but I hope they're a fairly interesting interpretation.
The drawing first:

And the micros:

(Slight update to eyes and tummyx2.)

Dirk's feet and legs are pretty perfected for the sumo's so I changed out everyone's with his template.

That's the fun thing with working on Micros for awhile: you develop a better template for yourself! ...granted, I have OCD and continue to use my slightly outdated ones so all my Legionnaires will look the same.

Liking the Garth updates. The longer nose looks good.

Thanks, future.
Your comments mean a lot to me since I so respect your incredibly detailed work!
If I didn't have drawings to go by for the faces and proportions and things, I'd probably not worry about expressions and things, either.
nod

And the feet are so important for the proportions of the bodies and because so many of his characters either have barefeet or sandles on.

I wasn't intended Francis Manapul to draw Brin with the sandals. I thought it was going to be the same toeless boots from his regular outfit, but decided not to correct him. I was lucky enough to have him do it without incidence, since the piece in question could obviously be considered to be a fetish piece like you see on DeviantArt.

The noses do indeed look amazing. The hair on the redesign sort of resembles Dave Cockrum's art, but I haven't seen that much of his work on the Legion.

Fetish?!!
gads

The feet were actually fun to learn how to do.
And the sandles.
Not the ones on the 'old' Brin micro, but the one I have now and will post as soon as I finish the costume colors revision.
nod

I'm going to fiddle with Garth's tummy again, too.

Sort. Truth be told, when I originally thought of the sketch I was expecting him to draw Brin in one of those sumo diapers.

I prefer them myself. And, let's face it, a big hairy guy in a sumo diaper would've probably sent the wrong signal to a lot of people.

Hi!
Well, I finished another alternaty character for SarK.

This is Itty Bitty.
I assume she shrinks or something like that.
Lot's of adjustments and redos and splicing and computer issues BUT she was still fun to figure out and finish.

Here's the commissioned drawing of SarKs that I based the micro on:

That is so cute! It reminds me of the American Girl dolls I was obsessed with as a little girl.

As promised - Mall Hair Girl:
[Linked Image]

She's fairly close to the drawing, with some concessions to the size of the pixels.
And my interpretaions.

Her power is something like Spider Girls, I think, with an attitude like Comet Queens.
I kept the hair simpler than the drawings and I like that the curls look kind of like birds, which adds a dimension to her, and possibly, her powers. A flock of hair birds might be fun.
I thought that forming hearts with her hair might be something she'd do, too.
nod
The shoelaces are pink and her eyes are green.

(Tinypics won't save the orange in the planet part of the saturn emblem for some reason, so I placed her in a poster to try to bypass whatever the problem is with the color.)

Here's the drawing, for reference:

When I designed the Garth that actually went with the drawing SarK had, I gave him long hair and a fairly slim frame.

I didn't really like it, so here's the update
(my Paint is giving dappling effects to my saved micros which I usually 'fix' but I like the idea of a Garth with freckles, so I left the effect):

I too must know everything about Mall Hair Girl. And congratulations to Candle on the great micros, especially MHG's collar. I know how much time and detail it can take to get the overall look of sharp edges like that just right.

Thanks, Future and everyone.
It's amazing how much changing a pixal can set in motion, a hundred others seem to move in or out of alinement and everything either gets unbalanced or comes into sharp view.

The girls were fun because their expressions in the drawings were pretty neutral and I didn't have to bulk them up, so I could concentrate on the costumes and make-up.
lol

I feel real satisfaction with Ittys slip and sleeve lace and her purse.
MHGs bubblegum was lots of fun and trial and error, as were her shoes.
I can see her writing words with her hair, too.

My favorite guy so far, has been Dirk.
I think the drawing and micro came out very complimentary.

Here's one that I did before, the Red Wolf of Rage, a Red Lantern Brin.
Then, I decided to make him look more like the photo work I did.

Here's one of SarK's ninjas, Saturn Girl, or rather 2 of her, in her summer black and red and in her winter snow slope red and white:
