So, which of these writer suggestions would've been preferrable to Justin Thyme?

Ted McKeever should stay far away from the Legion. His work was good in Superman's Metropolis, but it wouldn't fit here.

Justin Thyme should be hung by his toenails and have weights put on his eyeballs for that travesty.
Nah, not really. I don't hate anyone that much. Yes, the book was a travesty, don't get me wrong, but it was a travesty in comic book terms, not in anything really meaningful.
Look, I hated it. Posted that I hated it here and at the DCMB's, and that will never change. It was horrible. Something else else I would be ashamed to have to use to clean with in the bathroom. But Im not hating on the guy personally. The first sentence was really just an expression of how sheepdung awful it really was.

Remembering Saturn Girl's look into Cham's mind in one a' them old Levitz stories, it somehow makes perfect sense that a poster named "Reep" would be totally into Jackson Pollock. And now I have to go play my copy of Jane Ira Bloom's Chasing Paint one more time.

[cough] As to the original question: Uh, I have no idea. I always seem to like the stuff most other people can't stand, and vice versa. Frankly the art I saw here posted from much of the Lightning Saga seriously hurt my eyes. I couldn't even try to read the story after that. And that's supposed to be "the good stuff," right?

The artist from Lightning Saga did some really nice work on Midnight Nation and Supreme Power, but I don't think his art works as well with the Legion. He can't draw people smiling, IMO, and that was certainly no drawback in his previous works (not a lot of smiling in Midnight Nation, about demons feeding on homeless people!), but when he's supposed to be drawing smiling teen Clark and friends, it just looks like creepy rictuses of death.
Anywho, my least favorite writer would probably be Millar or Winnick, and for artist, someone like Jae Lee (whose art rocks for, say, the Ghost Rider or Black Panther, but would suck for the Legion) or Carmine Infantino.
Liefield is a double-threat, since he'd be a least favorite writer *and* artist.
Sergio Aragones, 'though? That could go all the way around past bad and be cool!

That would be pretty bad. Hmm... "W" has some free time on his hands these days...

Aw, but with George writing, there'd be a lot of nukular explosions.
