Anyone else of note die recently? If so, who and how?
Both Emerald Empress and Space Ranger recently died in LMB Infinite Crisis. Emerald Empress was killed by the Anti-Moderator as she searched for Varalent, because she held some of the knowledge needed to defeat him. Space Ranger was killed by the Red Bee (an LMB traitor and mastermind behind the “Good, the Dark and the Dead Saga”) after he launched a massive villain attack on Legion World (titled “Villains United”).

In my mind, its really a turning point in the history of the LMB on Legion World. Two falls ago, when I first came to LW, I arrived at a time where certain posters registered within one week of one another: Space Ranger, Emerald Empress, Royal Inquisitor, Kara and myself. All four are alt IDs for those that don’t know. The funny thing is, all of this happened without any of the posters contacting one another, and ironically, the real poster of Kara contacted me and told me he’d probably have her die in the Crisis, but then most not have gotten access to his computer and never got the chance. So there was going to be a forth casualty. Also, Royal Inquisitor has officially turned good and now is in love with Quislet, Esq., which marks a major change of his character. In my mind, certain things that happened during that fall of two years ago marked the beginning of a new era for the LMB on Legion World, and its funny that all of those new characters (and me) were effected this time around, two years later when another change has happened.

Faraway Lad didn’t die during Infinite Crisis, though he came close a few times.

There haven’t been many other recent LMBers to die, although it depends on your view of recent. I’ll answer some more questions and give a complete list, as well as some key LMB allies.

On ‘Reign of the Dark Lard’ and the Final LMB Story

It’s funny you guys brought all this up, because its something I was thinking about as I wrote the above list. I’ve come to think of “Reign of the Dark Lard” as *thee* final LMB story in the sense that the LMB afterwards will not be the LMB before. However, I also think there *will* be an LMB after, and it would be an LMB that shows hope and promise after a period of sadness and desperation. However, the effects of ‘Reign’ would be deep and would create major change for a variety of characters. The LMB would not be the same again, so really, there could be future LMB stories, but they really wouldn’t be absolutely necessary. The LMB’s story could have its ending there, with the knowledge that it would live on.

What I mean is that essentially Spider-Man could have ended with Amazing Spider-Man #33 back in 1967 and the series would have had a finite ending in the sense that the character had moved so far. However, it of course didn’t and we’ve moved on quite a bit from there. But it really could have reached its conclusion to a very dramatic progression in terms of character. That’s what ‘Reign’ will do to the LMB.

Of course, being a fan of serialized story-telling, I know in my heart that I’d still want to see (and probably write) a post-Reign LMB story.

I’m extremely interested in what the bullet points would be for ‘Reign’. Some months (years?) back, I had begun to imagine Cobalt Kid at that point and created in my mind a set story for him (and Space Tart) in the future, and what would happen to their characters. Needless to say, ‘Reign’ might actually the be-all/end-all of Cobalt Kid and complete his journey. What would become of him after? Would he be there after? I have an idea.

And no worries Lardy, there’s plenty of time to tell it wink . And, as I’ve offered, I’m always willing to help in some way, without stealing your thunder!

I also like the progression of Lucien Lad and Lash Lad and I can perhaps see the two of them moving on towards the path they take to get to where they are by the end of the multiverse sometime during and/or right after ‘Reign’. The very nature of the two characters power (on the assumption that Lash still has the retcon powers, or if the Lash/TMT connection still exists—we’ll have to see laugh ) could lead them to be instrumental in the story of ‘Reign’, or on a different note, very instrumental in the ‘aftermath of Reign’.

Maybe a list of immortal LMBers is in order? laugh

Did Lucien Lad keep the Gay-Lipso powers? From your post, I can see we're already sorting out exactly how to define them.
Actually, you're guess is as good as mine at this point. I was away for a couple of days right in the middle of the Crisis and missed most of the end of it so something else might have happened, but... My intention was that Lucien Lad and Glamour Puss (both in their Gay-lipso indentities) would work together but that they woulnd't actually merge. Then at the end of Crisis Glamour Puss would probably be returned to Earth 4, but with the possibility of a return. Since we already know that Lucien Lad is prone to going evil it sems a little pointless to have another evil alternate version of him runnign around, although the idea of their being one Lucien Lad who is good but prone to evil and one who is evil but prone to doing good, is quite funny. The Gay-lipso powers would be lost though (at least for the time being) because Lucien Lad actually had the Earth 4 black diamond and Glamour Puss had the Earth 1 black diamond and once the dimensional rift was healed the diamonds wouldn't work (unless a later story calls for them to). Thus Lucien Lad is the only version of him left on Earth 1 and while he does have a black diamond that could potentially turn him into Gay-lipso again it doesn't actually work at the moment because it's in the wrong universe. Possibly I need to write some kind of coda to Crisis to that effect, but that's what the plan was. Like I say though I might have missed a different development later on in Crisis though.

I think that, realistically, any LMBP stories taking place in the future would have to be regarded as probable (but not definite) futures. Who knows what paths our characters might take between now and then? Heck, since year one I've lost my Sani-Fresh powers, become a woman, had babies, had babies retconned out of existence, become twins and gained an array of psionic powers laugh

tch, yeah, like that hasn't happened to *everyone*. Well, the retconned babies anyway. wink

Oooh, speaking of which, here's another question for Cobie (just because I don't like to think of him being bored at home with nothing to do), which LMBPers have actually had children and what happened to said offspring? and have any of them actually managed to get away without being retconned out of existence?

And secondly the LMBp has had a fair few 'celebrity' guest stars over the years (Cher, Elvis, Catherine the Great, Frankie Muniz etc) but who are the most important ones, and were any of them *actually* the real celebs (I'm pretty sure Cher was but I'm not sure about any of the others).
I’ll do the second one first, and see if I can fit the other one in during work throughout the day laugh

The list of celebrities that have helped the LMB is actually pretty long, so I’ll only include the most important. Before I do, I’ll say that there were a plethora of celebrities appearing in “Hot Summer Nights” and even “Doom of the Super-Heroes”, more than I’m going to list below. Some would even be snuck in (most famously was Lardy sneaking in one without anyone noticing). Here’s where we stand:

Catherine the Great – Catherine the Great (and her horse) is actually a full-on recurring LMB villainess that battles them from time to time. She first appears in Year Three (in continuity) and had some fights there, and appeared sparingly since. This stems from the Emessage Board, where you could post under any username without giving an email or password—which caused these types of names to appear repeatedly. Catherine the Great began to appear repeatedly, most often used by Lardy (of course) and almost developed an LMB type persona (horse jokes of course ensued). I added her to my LMB continuity timeline to present a new foe for the era where Seahorse and Stu were leaders, since there was so many new members and so little tag stories, and it fit nicely into the era of the Emessage forum.

Dr. Albert Hoffman – Dr. Hoffman is a real life scientist from the 1930’s, who is most famous for accidentally creating LSD. I found this out in LMB Year Three and created the character as my alt ID for the Phineas Board during that era, which was subsequently one of the ones deleted by the moderator when Lash and I famously went on a rampage. Upon coming to Legion World, I created an origin story for The Pious One and Dark Conan (my other alts) to explain where Cobalt had been throughout the years of his comings and goings, and in doing so, combined the characters of Dr. Albert Hoffman and the Pious One. Thus, Dr. Hoffman is Cobalt Kid’s arch-nemesis, and is responsible for his many disappearances and leaving the LMB, physically mentally torturing Cobalt Kid, ensuring that Cobalt Kid will never live to raise his own children and that most would be demons, robots and future world conquerors, and causing a rift between him and Space Tart. Dr. Hoffman is currently believed to be dead following my own Onevision “The Tale of Dr. Albert Hoffman”.

Elvis/others – many other celebrities were used in “Return of Dev-Em”, and then the Ongoing Tag Story, and then many times since, and almost always they turned out to be none other than Madrox the Multiple Durlan. During the opening parts of “Return of Dev-Em” things got really confusing right away, so I came up with the idea to write it all off as being a bunch of Durlans—but even better, one Durlan who could clone himself, thus creating a villain that could fight the entire LMB. Madrox the Multiple Durlan subsequently appeared in almost every tag story since, usually for a post or two before some kills him off, which makes it even funnier, since he can keep coming back because its easy to write it off as a clone dying. Abin particularly has found this amusing and you can see Everyday Girls’ response in the latest Halloween tag thread regarding Madrox. Madrox also serves to explain away random celebrity appearances that don’t stick for whatever reason.

Frankie Muniz – As I mentioned, many celebrities appeared in ‘Hot Summer Nights’, but one celebrity in particular has made it into LMB lore. He first appeared in Hot Summer Nights, not only as a guest-star but a full-blown LMBer! For a few panels he helped out in a mission, but then he ended up dying, making the ultimate sacrifice (killed by Lucifer Lass and the One Called the One). Normally these things would have been forgotten, but this was not so: Frankie’s statue was shown being seen erected in “Doom of the Super-Heroes” under the name “Explosion Reversal Lad”, which was then given to him as a moniker. Thus, Frankie was an LMBer who died in battle. Now, we’ve decided that all LMBers that are not actually alts but story creations are designated the title ‘Honorary LMBers’ to make sure they are differentiated from actual posters and alts, so that is how he’ll be remembered. His origin and first meeting with the LMB have yet to be revealed, as well as if this was the true Frankie Muniz of one thousand years before.

Gary Coleman – Another LMBer introduced in ‘Hot Summer Nights’ was actually Gary Coleman, and like Frankie, was not only a guest star, but an actual member! Like I said above, this now makes him an ‘Honorary Member’ of the LMB. However, like Frankie, he two was killed in “Hot Summer Nights” by the One Called the One and Lucifer Lass (or at least by things caused by them), and most assuredly has his own statue. He never has received a codename as of yet. Ten points for someone to name him as long as it’s funny!

Cher – One character that’s a bit more fleshed out, despite only a few posts, is Cher. Cher first appeared in “The Day Legion World Stood Still” (Spring 2004) and was revealed to be the actually Cher we know today in our own time. She also exhibited the powers of teleportation, low level spell casting, and wielding a soul sword. Basically, Cher is like Magik of Marvel New Mutants fame, only its Cher who wields the power. She hasn’t appeared since, but its established she’s an ally of the LMB (not an Honorary LMBer).

Dollyputo – I spoke about Dollyputo on page two, but needless to say, she’s the combined personalities of Lucien Lad, Lash Lad and Dolly Parton, in computer form that can materialize as a hologram. She’s the LMB’s computer, and thus an LMB ally (not Honorary Member). First appearance in “Return of Dev-Em” (Fall 2003), and subsequent appearances here and there, most prominently in “The Day Legion World Stood Still”.

Roger Moore, Samantha Fox and Dolly the Sheep – All members of LMB lore, introduced in Numf-El’s Onevision-like story in the “Ongoing Tag Thread”, who met Numf and Harbinger as they traveled through Scotland. After this adventure, LMB Adventures Magazine hired them all as part of their staff, which stems from Abin enjoying these characters so much, he added them to his interludes which involved Eddie Tor, Trixie, etc.

Am I missing more? I feel like I am, but I don’t have time to read through the timeline.

The following note was inserted by Abin, Just becaue he CAN!

(Yep, you forgot Dusty Baker, who was an integral part of the "Stupid Friggen Giant Ants" story and the immortal JSMBP Story in the Ongoing Thread)

Hmmm... I feel like I should contribute something to this discussion but for the life of me I can't come up with anything that you guy haven't already said.

Well, there is one thing. In looking at that top ten list (which is really a top 15 or 20 list) I guess I'm not real comfortable with the fact that I have three personna's (counting Pagan Lass) on that list. So I suppose that's the basic reason Space Ranger had to die.

But, Now that he's dead I really miss using him to needle a few posters around here. And Gary wouldn't let me close the ID, so maybe...

But it would have to be done exactly right...

I like that, especially the part about the Earth-4 evil Lucien Lad having a tendency to do good. And it closes the story but leaves things wide open. Cool!

Update

One other bunch of real life people (kinda). Lisp Lass in "Doom of the Super-Heroes" raised the undead cast of the Facts of Life as her underlings. It's fitting this isn't on the official list though, as they were undead and not the real thing laugh

How could I forget Dusty!

Dusty Baker is another Honorary Member of the LMB, and an Honorary Member of the JSMBP! He first appeared in 'The Ongoing Tag Thread', and as an intergral part of the Great Cogaaad Saga and Rody’s trip backwards in time.

Another one:

Time Boy – Listed on the first page of this thread, there is also Time Boy, a young H. G. Wells. The real life author actually discovered how to travel through time and became a heroic time traveler throughout his youth. This actually started on a one-off post by me in “The Ongoing Tag Team Thread”, followed by a post by Abin killing off H.G. Wells by Lucifer Lass dropping a bed on him! Funny enough, this was an older H.G. Wells, and I liked the idea of Wells at the end of his career killed by Lucifer Lass, but only after a length 60+ career of time-traveling adventures. Thus, I had it so that when he was younger, HG Wells helped an older version of the LMB (our current year) under the moniker Time Boy, unaware he would one day be killed by their side in their past!

First is, Ok we've had the list of the most powerful LMBPers, how about the list of the most powerful LMBP villains (either including LMBPers gone bad or not as the case may be).
OK, this one I can kind of bang out really quick, and won’t give it the depth the other list had.

Once again, this is by most powerful, not by worst villain, or most dastardly, or hurt the LMB the worst. I have my own opinions on that and will post that list when one of you request that because you’re worried I’m bored wink

Tie for #1: Anti-Moderator – Hands down has to be the most powerful (although tied!), and has shown time and time again why. Basically the LMB’s Anti-Moderator is the Anti-Monitor with the personality of a certain loathed moderator on the internet who I won’t mention by name. In the LMB’s past he’s done the following:

a) caused the deaths of at least six LMBers in the first ever “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, which destroyed the L* Board at the close of Year Two.

b) Destroyed the entire universe we knew as “The Remarkable Worlds of Phineas B. Fuddle” and a plethora of Alt IDs that lived there in Year Three.

c) Almost destroyed the LMB itself and the hero community at large during “LMB Lost” in the anti-matter universe, with his evil royal army, the Naturals. By far, this was the LMB at its lowest ever in its history.

d) Murdered the Emerald Empress and started the LMB: Infinite Crisis which led to one more of the greatest and worst LMB epics, including numerous deaths, injuries and scars on the LMB.

Essentially, he’s our biggest and greatest foe. So much so, that we really should not use him again, since he’s become our ‘go to guy’ for the most awful and powerful enemy in the most cosmic of crisis. Not to say these four Crisis have not been great, because they’re all favorites of mine, even the two I was not a part of. But he’s by far the strongest.

We also know he still must live, if our ‘Five Years Later’ continuity exists—since Lardy wrote out his final end! That’s a discussion for another day though…but like Lucy said in the MMB, there’s a big loophole for him to be alive.

Tie for #1: Ekron - Well, that is to say, tied for the strongest. In “Crisis on Earth-4!” EDE came up with the idea for a villain that surprisingly no one has really ever thought of before: Ekron himself! The ramifications were huge! A villain who exists outside the multiverse…so strong that his body parts and clothing were scattered throughout space/time/multiverse to ensure he could not be put back together. In the end of that story it took the cosmic team-up of the LMB and the SMB, as well as careful mystic planning by the Phantom Stranger to create a plan that could possibly stop him.
IMO, a great, great villain for one of my all-time favorite stories, and another villain I’d prefer never used again. When I picture him, I picture the cover to Crisis #12, with all the LMB and SMB fighting a gigantic Ekron, who towers over the universe and the Earths.

2) The Time Mouse Trapper – well, technically if it’s a tie for #1 we should go right to #3, but screw that.

The Time Mouse Trapper, of course, must be #2, given the very nature of his powers and existence, which is still debated by Legion fandom today. Well, at least his DCU counterpart, but the TMT is essentially the Time Trapper with a mouse body. While Lucien Lad slowly reveals the true nature of the Time Mouse Trapper, its apparent that he is much, much more powerful than most things that cross the LMB’s path, and he’s proven that time and time again. He’s battled the LMB countless times, before his most recent downfall in “The Ongoing Tag Thread” in the mini-story “The Great Cogaaad Saga”, where it was revealed that he is the alternate version of Lash that kept the Retcon powers (which Bevis will reveal if true or false). Before that though, he was responsible for rebooting the universe which led to a different timeline that introduced Princess Crujectra and Furball, and then most famously was behind the terrible attack of Year Three which resulted in Crujectra and Stu’s children being undone in continuity, as well as Amber & Beagz, Cobalt & Spacey and Cobalt’s child with the deceased Debauchery Damsel. This last battle ensured that all future battles with the TMT are much more personnel and full of hate on both sides (which is why the LMB left him abandoned alone and powerless at the end of time at the close of the “Great Cogaaad Saga”).

3) Pornis – It’s very hard to tell if Pornis is more powerful than the One Called the One or the other way around, which is the very nature of their struggle for mastery over the universe (similar to Mordru vs. Glorith in TMK). But Pornis is a villain with far-reaching powers, an innumerable army and one that has yet to ever be captured or defeated outright. His true plans for the world (once conquered) have never fully been revealed, as is the exact nature to his connection to Lardy, EDE and Lucifer Lass, although we all now believe they’re the children of Pornis an the One Called the One. If anything, “Hot Summer Nights”, “Doom of the Super-Heroes”, “The Omega Man Gambit” and “Super Jailhouse of Space” reveal that Pornis has enough power to battle all of the LMB—and win.

4) The One Called the One – like Pornis, her true power remains immeasurable, vague and mysterious, but its evident that she is extremely powerful. The war with Pornis and her own intentions for the world continue to be revealed to us slowly, all the while her power remains equally mysterious, as does her hold over Lucifer Lass and a plethora of other females willing to help her achieve her goals. Once again, one thing is evident above all else: she has enough power to battle all of the LMB—and win.

5) Entropy Spinach – The Entropy Spinach in and of itself is almost impossible to defeat and what it truly is remains, a common theme here, a mystery. We do know that it is entropy in some form and may have sentience, and that alone is a scary thought.

Hm, as I go through this, it becomes harder to decide where others fit in. Let me stop listing them by number at this point and give you the five next most powerful villains in LMB lore. You’ll notice some might be left out that never really had their personalities/powers explained in depth (i.e. Biegeseid)—that’s because of precisely that.

Whordru Potentially as strong as the LSH Mordru, albeit a female with a beard. As previously mentioned a few times in this thread, Whordru is finally getting the LMB treatment in Lardy’s current Onevision.

The Trumpeter – Virtually Earth-4’s Lex Luthor, the Trumpeter is powerful in the sense that we have no idea who or what is under his control at this point, and just exactly what he can do. Seen in “Crisis on Earth-4!”

Phineas B. Fuddle – Able to induce mass hallucinations and hysteria upon Legion World and turn Stu and the LMB against one another, it takes an immense amount of power that Phineas B. Fuddle must be able to harness.

Elagabolus – Still just a young boy, we know (as authors) that one day he will be the reason the LMB disbands in the first place. He is a nexus for chaotic magical energy that is used for death, decay and destruction, and is a force that arrives in the universe every few thousand years. Immeasurably strong, he is the LMB’s greatest failure, and is still only a 14 year old boy alone and afraid of himself. Seen in “Price of Security”.

The Devourer of Children – A being even the LMB Magic-Users all fear—even when united together. This creature enjoys eating and enjoying the essence of small children, particularly those with strange powers. He too is hard to gage in power, only that he exists in magical realms so strong most LMBers cannot comprehend them. Seen in “Price of Security” and “The Eight Impossible Space-Missions”.

Evilseid and the armies of Botoxalips – The first time Legion World ever stood on the brink of invasion, it was the masterful plot of Evilseid that almost brought it there, as his various warriors infiltrated and captured the LMB, including Ms. Grundy, the Quietly Twins and a host of others that almost brought the LMB to its knees.

The Red Bee – At first you might not think the Bee fits this high up on the list, but as of this point his powers still remain vague. We know he is undetectable through any means, including science and magic, but more importantly, his body uses some type of horrendous pain-inducing fluid that renders most people unable to move. By no means on par with Time Mouse Trapper, Ekron, etc., but possibly more powerful than we suspect. Last seen in ‘Villains United’ and ‘The Good, the Dark & the Dead Saga’ before that.

Lucifer Lass - She can find you anywhere she wants and drop a bed on your head instantly. She has underlings her do her bidding, and she has her own agenda that even the One Called the One and Pornis are unaware of. Is she evil? Does she have good intentions? We still don’t know…all we know is that she can take on masses of LMBers if she wants.

Salad-Tosser Lord – One of the LMB’s oldest enemies (the oldest continuity wise, if not created wise), Salad Tosser Lord isn’t the strongest of LMB villains, but he’s certainly able to hold the entire LMB at bay throughout its history.

Well, you can see that I added a bunch that might not make the top ten most powerful—but to be honest, we have a host of foes that are super-strong a la the Anti-Monitor and the Time Trapper, since, well, there’s like forty of us at all times. But I wanted to give credit to some other villains that have held off the entire LMB. Feel free to add others. I left a bunch off, but as you can see, I lied when I said I wouldn’t add any for being dastardly.

You can see that for almost all of them, there is still a large mystery and ambiguity to who they are what they can actually do, which is probably why we consider most of them so strong.

Heh heh, Lucifer Lass has one of the best powers ever. laugh

I think with the villains that the Living Retcon also needs to be mentioned. OK so he's Floyd now (I forget the Living Retcon II's name but I don't think she has her powers any more either since Lash possibly has them) but when he did have his powers he was one of the most powerful villains ever.

I should also mention that Glamour Puss probably *shouldn't* be on that list (OK so he's not already, but you know, if he were...). Even though he had the Gay-lipso powers recently I don't think he has the nostalgia powers. He certainly has never displayed them but I think if he has them and is too like Lucien Lad in terms of his power then it means he's actually less interesting. Him having Glam Force powers (he can certainly manipulate reality to soem extent in the same way as Lucien Lad, but can't actually recreate reality, if you see what i mean) but being a complete psychopathic villain is much more fun than him being a hyper-powerful villain. I think he works better as the kind of villain who normally has to work with others than one who can work on his own.

By the way on my way home from work I had a thought about the nostalgia powers that mean that Lucien Lad could be even more powerful in at least one situation. See, the Living Retcon powers recreate reality so that things have always been the way that they are after the changes have been made. They affect all of time and reality. The nostalgia powers affect *now* and going forward. Lucien Lad can change the present so that it's like it was before but he doesn't actually change the past so that things didn't happen (whether that means he could bring someone back to life I'm not sure. I think that might be taking the powers a step too far). Anyway, with the Living Retcon powers people generally don't seem to remember things have changed, or at least they forget quickly if things aren't changed back. With Lucien Lad's nostalgia powers they do remember what it was like before because he hasn't actually altered the past. The point being though... is Lucien Lad affected by the Living Retcon powers? I'm pretty sure in the past he's known that a retcon has taken place and has reverted himself. So could he do that to everyone? If there is a retcon and Lucien remembers the past can he fix it with his own powers? OK so he'd need complete control of what he's doing adn chances are things wouldn't be exactly the same as before (because of his whole slightly distorted world view as discussed before) but could he do it? In fact could he be the ultimate retcon defence system?

*ahem*

Cobie, in your opinion who are the worst villains, the most datardly villains and the villains that most hurt the LMBP?

Oh come one, if it wasn't me it was going to be the very next person to post...

LMBers who have made the Ultimate Sacrifice

Year One
Food Maker Kid – Dweezil died in the middle of battle by catching on fire, rolling down a hill and then being eaten by a Super Moby Dick of Space. However, his spirit was kept alive and reborn in the body of Donna Troy, and the two beings merged with the Spectre to become the LMBP Spectre! Of course this only happened after Jar Jar Binks and Parallax were also driven out to become Jar Jarallax.

He was actually the first ever retconned in character to LMB lore, and was done so in the very first tag team thread, in a scene where one of the LMB stumbled upon “the statue of a fallen LMBer…FoodMaker Kid!”. After that, the above mentioned death (which I created—the person who created him has been forgotten, though I think it was one of the early year one posters who stopped posting soon after) was established, as well as the idea that he was a mentor to Beagle Boy (who, before having speed, had super-cooking powers). Later, during the Early Year One Road trips, the connection between him, Donna Troy and the Spectre came about on Titans World (see the Yahoo Group for the full details) in almost a surreal way—no one could have ever planned.

Kid Gender Stereotype Reversal – Another early LMB ally, this Honorary LMBer fought with them on a variety of missions before dying in battle early on. His sister, Kid Gender Stereotype Reversal II carries on in his name and is also an Honorary LMBer.

KGSR, of course, is another retcon, only done so four years later in “Doom of the Super-Heroes”. The character was so well liked by the then prominent LMB authors (Lardy, Lash, Kippers and Eryk) that KGSR II gained a following among them and others.

Dazzle Lass The one true love of LardLad, she finally became an LMBer after fending off Whordru, only to be killed in secret by Mordra the Harlot, the first LMB traitor. It would be weeks before she was ever recovered, and it would bring only more pain.

Tsarin Kid – The major death of Year One is Tsarin Kid, whose death pretty much puts a close on Year One and starts Year Two (a very vague transition). Tsarin, of course, is Mystery Lad and is still with us today. During this era, he became fed up with DC’s Legion and treatment of Jan and left the boards for a bit, asking his character be retired and deceased. He later returned as Mystery Lad and rejoined the LMB shenanigans.

However, its become part of LMB lore that Founding LMBer Tsarin Lad died at the end of Year One, only to somehow come back as Mystery Lad (in a strangely different way) in Year Two. For the next three years he was an LMB ally until the move to Legion World where he finally rejoined the team. This is the major early death.

Year Two
Globe Girl – Previously stated in this thread, Globe Girl’s very existence was in question and her story came to an end in “The Never Ending tag Thread”. Or did it?

Almost all of the Year Two deaths take place in the first “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, which was essentially the end of the L* Board and the retiring of many alt IDs, as the LMB felt they were being kicked out of their home and sent to a new one. The Anti-Moderator was the villain. I know who they are alts of, but I won’t reveal on the off-chance that alts from five years ago still want to remain a secret wink

Foxy Roxy – a prominent LMBer throughout all of Year Two, Foxy Roxy met her end here in a heroic way. A later Foxy Roxy has appeared since, but we are unsure if this is the same one, a rebooted one or even Foxy Roxy II.

Lexbose – another prominent LMBer throughout Year Two.

Silicon Sandra – A member of the LMB throughout this period, she was also connected to Globe Girl, as above states.

Super Lad Kid – Lesser known member and lurker Super Lad Kid made the ultimate sacrifice here and wasn’t seen again for three whole years! But he was somehow rebooted and is the Super Lad Kid we know today.

Legion of Super-Holograms – Not necessarily members of the LMB, the LoSH were part of the inspiration to rebirth the LMB at the close of Year Two. They were: G. Stallion (hologram of Raging Bull), Piccard’s Sexy Grandson (hologram of Seahorse) and Brad Pitt’s Sexier Brother (hologram of Lost in Lust Lad aka Terrence).

Year Three
There are no LMB deaths in Year Three that I can think of. Prove me wrong!

Year Four
Cobalt Kid – For a long time, it was believed Cobalt Kid was among the deceased (not just a mission—a whole year). He was actually captured for a long time by Dr. Albert Hoffman, revealed in “The Tale of Dr. Albert Hoffman” and “The Tale of Cobalt and Spacey”.

Explosion Reversal Lad – Frankie Muniz became an LMBer in a yet unrevealed story, and was with them throughout “Hot Summer Nights” battling the One Called the One and Lucifer Lass. Sadly, he was killed during this epic struggle.

Gary Coleman – Gary Coleman too made the ultimate sacrifice battling Lucifer Lass and the One Called the One.

Bowels Bursting Boy – In the ‘Super Jailhouse of Space’ Bowels Bursting Boy, only an LMB applicant joined them and tried to help overcome Odran, Lisp Lass and others, and was able to save many of them by making the ultimate sacrifice. Following this adventure, he was made an Honorary LMBer post-posthumously.

Space Tart – As the LMB found themselves at odds with internal and external threats, Space Tart made the ultimate sacrifice to send the LMB to the anti-matter universe, although it cost her her life. This will be revealed in “Refugees” if EDE ever finishes it. She was saved, by Cobalt going back in time for her, in “Journeys and Destinies”.

Year Five
Giant Squid – Also not technically an LMBer, he was a denizen of Legion World and Alt ID that believed in the LMB, and he showed true heroism in the face of danger during “The Dark Stu Saga”, although he was killed by the Royal Inquisitor.

Year Six

High Priestess Viviane – Viviane was killed for a time by the Sorceress Morgause, only to finally be resurrected by her and Abin’s daughter Opal—but only when Opal paid the ultimate price.

Opal Jannel – the daughter of High Priestess Viviane, Opal made the ultimate sacrifice, knowing that if Morgause killed her the energies released would restore her mother to life, and thus did so to bring back The High Priestess Viviane.

Numf-El – Numf has technically at the end of ‘Dragons’, although the Ghost of Numf-El is still very much an active LMBer!

KinetixZoeGreen – A former member of the LMB, KZG had been away for some time, when The Sorceress Morgause attacked her without reason and murdered her during “The Good, The Dark & The Dead”.

Year Seven
The Emerald Empress – As stated earlier in this thread, heroic LMBer The Emerald Empress made the ultimate sacrifice in “Infinite Crisis” after showing us that we all have a hero inside.

Space Ranger – One of the noblest LMBers to ever serve, Space Ranger also passed away during Infinite Crisis, killed by the Red Bee, after single-handedly taking down all of the villains he’d assembled.

Other thoughts
- I always thought Faraway didn’t actually die in “Good, the Dark & the Dead” but was on the very brink of death for some time, only to be saved at literally the last minute by Pov’s pint?

Am I missing others?

Other noble sacrifices in LMB Lore
- Invisible Brainaic of Earth-4, murdered in ‘Crisis of Earth-4!’. Also, Loser Lad, Cobalt Kid and Lard Lad of Earth-4 are all deceased.

- Mean Old Hero, an older hero from a bygone era died in “The Legion of Message Board Super-Villains”.

- Past heroes, such as the LMB Experience and the first JSMBP met their own fates in various tales of their own.

Actually I think you might be right about Far not actually dying. IIRC he was held in susepnded animation or something right on the brink of death. He was certainly believed dead by most of the LMBP though and (I think) even had a funeral.

Of course the one LMBper to actually have a burial and a grave but not be dead, or even thought dead, was Jailbait Lass who was buried alive by the Red Bee.

Earth-4 reminds me of another question. I know we added to this in the "Infinite Crisis of Earth-4" story recently, but which LMBPers' Earth-4 duplicates are evil?

Yours and Tamper Lad's, i think, and mine was hinted at somewhat obliquely...but i got the impression that perhaps Tamper Lad's doppelganger is actually a "good guy" on Earth 4?

Evil Emperor Penguin (Rockhopper Lad) and Stalker Lad (Tamper Lad) definitely are. But we'll see what the Master (Cobie, that is) has to say about the others.
