We now know Brainiac 5 can indeed take down Element Lad in a wrestling match.
Without powers, I'm thinking he could take down Projectra, Imra and Lyle as well based on his performance against Jan.
And based on Jan's performance I'd put him on par with Projectra as the physical combat lightweight of the team.

Hmm... I definitely have mixed feeling about this issue.
On the one hand, I actually think the basic idea of a Dream Girl who only appears to others in their dreams would be kind of a cool take on the character. If they'd just re-introduced her like that, I think I would've been fairly happy. But I really dislike this whole death/resurrection plotline.
I'm totally digging the LSV plotline, however.
And "Kid Quake" causing Gim to puke, ala what "Quake Kid" was last seen doing in his original incarnation, was beautifully inspired.
The Supergirl plotline is a bore, though, as far as I'm concerned.

It doesn't even bother me (too much) that he's all spiritual. It bothers me more that he just doesn't know when to shut up. After all, he should know that some changes are more difficult than others so Brainy's delusion wasn't going to end because Jan yammered at him more. Ah well, gives him something to learn, I suppose. About that combat stuff though, Brainy being a raving loon and Jan being caught by surprise maybe should factor in.

LSV plot could be interesting, if Waid gets out of his slump.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Read the issue once yesterday. I really liked it, although, like almost everything in this series, the Brainy/Dreamy thing could have happened 1 or 2 issues ago with no loss of plot or characterization -- in fact, it would have benefited both, since by the time I read this yesterday I couldn't for the life of me remember why the whole Dreamy 2.0 had to happen at the Crab Nebula pulsar. Oh, well.
The idea of Dreamy literally being Brainy's "Dream Girl" is a fantastic one, and she can ALWAYS get a new body from the next creative team, if not sooner.
I wonder, in issue 2, when Nura mentioned being "married" to Brainy, if this is what she foresaw. This is certainly a more intimate conjoining than most of us would seek; let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments, indeed. One open question is whether "Nura" still has her powers of prophecy.
I LOVED the super-girl friend coffee talk, even if Projectra substituted for Saturn Girl (the original 3rd super-girl friend from Supergirl's Legion initiation). I didn't find anything inconsistent about Projectra's behavior: monarchs are rarely subtle, but there was more calculation in Jeckie's pointed questioning then one might expect. And to think, Cos suggested the whole thing because he is smitten with Kara. Next issue: Triplicate Girl attempts to pass Supergirl a note from Cosmic Boy, but Lightning Lad incinerates it!
After almost 2 years of no "classic villains," it's a shock to hear of Tarik the Mute and see Nemesis Kid. A good shock, though. The original Colossal Boy/LSV story is one of my all-time favorites (was it Curt Swan's last Adventure issue as penciller?).
I rather like the fact that Waid has portrayed so many of the Legionaires as flawed, even annoying at times. Element Lad was genuinely trying to help and comfort Brainiac (who hasn't had to deal with a relative or friend at a funeral spouting off about "God's will"?) Micro Lad came across as a well-meaning, heroic doofus, which is as good a characterization of him as any. Flawed, distinct characters are more interesting, but the ultimate reason we READ the Legion is to see the characters surmount their flaws and act collectively as heroes. It's this second part that Waid hasn't had enough of, recently.
Oh, and DeKraker's art? I think he could grow into a fine Legion penciller. He suffers from the unfortunate task of filling in for the man BORN to draw the Legion, Mr. Barry "Powersaw" Kitson.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

"Powersaw Kitson" ? Oh, ouch. Poor Barry.
I was going to complain about the art a bit but I'd let that "little" fact that Barry ignored the first rule about hiring a professional to do professional tasks slip from my mind for a moment. I fully sympathize, btw Barry, get well soon Legionnaire, you're badly needed for these important missions!

I loved the Colossal Boy parts and I want to know more about those villains. Especially Kid Quake. He's cool.

It's strange my feelings about this issue. I really want Dream Girl alive again. But all this stuff about the Querl's insanity, the Jan's spirituality is bad for the series. It's fall again in old topics, and we need fresh ideas for the old classics. The various changes in the current series can be really bad. Now we have differents origins for our favorites heroes (Gim, Luornu, Tinya), differents skin colors ( Star Boy, Tinya, Nemesis Kid, Polar Boy?). For me, the same fatal mistakes, we see in the second reboot. Another eternal elseworlds in the legion universe.

It would be goofy if she did have them and Brainy needed Shady to 'clock him' for him to consult with her. Re: Tinya's skin colour. Its just a fad. She found out that 20th century girls liked to tan. Knowing the dangers of sunlight, she chose to use one of those Dihidroxyacetone 'tanning cremes'. Unfortunately she bought a cheap drugstore brand that turned her skin orange. Next Issue: Imra tries a home perm kit and Jan cuts his chin using Gillette products.

:hmmmm: I guess it's a marriage of sorts, after all. Is this when he stops doubting the infallibility of her prophecies?
This has just further complicated the Nura story. I was thinking before I read this issue that there has really been too much Brainy, but I'd certainly like to see this resolved somehow. I almost felt a twinge of compassion for the green kid. Will Nura be the Phantom of the Clubhouse, inside his head?
I liked the issue well enough, but the pacing and the various unresolved plots make it seem like "52" in terms of style. Maybe it would be more satisfying as a weekly comic. And, since 52 has a scheduled ending, one expects all the plots to wrap up for the grand finale. Not so with the Legion. It's hard to discuss the story because so much is still speculation.
DeKraker's art didn't bother me at all. I think it's improved a lot since the first issue.

I've actually been thinking about the comparison with '52' myself, lately, and that the Legion would work much better as a weekly comic.

The first thought I had about the missing body was that "the experiment" somehow cast it into a Phantom Zone-like dimension. The reason Brainy only can see and hear Nura is due to the device that is also protecting him from other Legionnaire powers.
Or, he's gone coo-koo.

I really hate this new "writing for the trade" style that is prevalent in the industry today. I never thought I'd say this about the Legion, but here we are almost two years in, and I feel like nothing has happened. I don't have a feel for who these characters are. I liked the idea of a fresh start, with re-imagined characters, but I still don't have any emotional attachment to them. I miss the "old" Legion. I'm gonna go back to the first issue and go through start to finish to see if I get a better feel for the book. I hope so. But please, speed up the storylines!

Or, he's gone coo-koo. This is truly brilliant, I like your idea alot. What I realy like about it is that given the similarities to the cover of #24 to the cover of this issue, Mon-El can bring Dreamy out of the P-Zone with him, finally bringing closure to a plotline in this book. Oh one can only hope.
So what.

Regarding Nemesis Kid and Polar Boy. Aliens aren't taken serious. Especially in a series where the aliens are just background generic characters. If this IS Nemesis Kid and Polar Boy...how anti-climatic. They've just been made very generic. Atleast the aliens on Terror Firma had a unique look. As for Brainy/Dreamy thing? Yes it's taken a long time but it's interesting so I am willing to wait it out...but they are getting close to the "not caring" point with fans. My one worry is my LEGION GOLDEN RULE: KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. KISS. Between Lemnos, Brainy, Dreamy...it hasn't been simple.
