With the new solicits up and no regular Legion title, it feels like there isn't much reason to keep checking in on DC.

And while it will be nice on occasion, apparantly, to see legin in Adventure, the book and team have clearly earned their place on the racks.

I know that there is turmoil over who can be in and who cant right now with the lawsuits, but somehow, this just doesn't seem right.

I started reading legion in the early/mid 70's, and other than one instance (the start of legion lost/worlds) i have collected monthly since.

Books DC has lost me on lately:
Aquaman
Birds of Prey
Nightwing
Atom
Hawkman
Superman/Action
Wonder Woman (with all it's changes. I love Gail's writing, but i had to let it go due to money)
Batman (what a horrible mess, and i love Grants' DC stuff)
Countdown
Trinity (because of countdown)
Batgirl

And i have only added one new book, secret six. perhaps a second in a few months with Warlord.

But Legion...this is the one that could cost DC my sixty dollars a month.

There is that, but it's like having a grain of salt to season a jumbo pot of boiled peanuts.

*sigh* Years of my ute gone down the drain...

*hugs everyone*

yeah, it's been getting to me too. Lo3W being so delayed, knowing the threeboot is almost over (hey, it wasn't the best Legion but it was monthly), not knowing what the future really holds (solits or news would be nice, maybe at NY comic con?).

Still, I guess I can read my back issues (I do have to reread the Time Trapper arc from the Baxter series...)

Sigh...it just isn't the same. Of course I'm also worried that the new Legion will appear and it will leave me cold with too many retcons

And Didio's "20 questions and 1 awnser" over at Newsarama didn't help matters much. The way he tells it, monthly doesn't mean much as long as they get the books out when they want. He even states that Legion didn't have much to do with FC, which is why I thought it was delayed to begin with.

DC needs someone to get the trains moving on time.

Its not all doom and gloom though.

We still have #50 to come, the rest of Legion of 3 Worlds, the shiny Ferro Lad collection, Adventure Comics 0, R.E.B.E.L.S., Thom in JSA and the aforementioned Mon-El and possibly Tellus in Superman.

If this does not tide us over until the team re-surfaces we have fifty years of the best comic going, two seasons and a few guest appearances of great cartoons, the recent Smallville episode, several Podcasts and some excellent books to fall back on.

Somehow I think we will survive.

I like your colorful optimism, Stuorstew!

It reminds me of the Legion itself at its best.

Hey, the lucky ones to me are the ones who at least can say firsthand that #50 stinks. Unless somebody wants to lend me his/her copy, I'm SOL on that front.

Should I just zip over to the shop this weekend and brazenly read it in the aisle without buying while shouting "WORST EPISODE EVER" until security throws me out ?

laugh

Stu, thank you, you really made my day after reading your post. I've been in quite a funk the past 2 days since LOS #50 came out. I'm sad and then angry, then sad again.
You are such an optimist that I am ashamed to even entertain a negative thought with regards to the handling of the Legion lately or where they're headed in the future.

Like you said so brilliantly, the Legion will survive and so will the fans.
Thanks again bud.

I have currently signed up to two Legion specific Podcasts, which are:

Super Future Friends - Which is just hilarious and, I believe, something to do with Very Very

The Legion of Substitute Podcasters - Also extremely good, started off just going through the Archives but have also addressed The Lightning Saga, the Action story and Legion of 3 Worlds. Helped me catch a lot of the background detail in Lo3W that I had missed first time around.

I recommend them both

I agree with stuorstew, we have a lot of Legion adventures to fall back on...
AND we also have fan fiction & fan art to fall back on ... maybe SOMEONE who can write or /and draw will create a (makeshift) LEGION COMIC while the "powers that be" at DC decide to come out with a "NEW" Legion book...

We MUST keep our chin up...
they tried to kill the Legion before...

WE WILL GET THOUGH THIS

WHY?....

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE....

BECAUSE WE LOVE THE LEGION

BECAUSE WE LOVED THEM 50 YEARS AGO ...
AND WE WILL LOVE THEM FOR MANY MORE YEARS...

AND BECAUSE THE LEGION IS IN OUR HEARTS...

LONG LIVE THE LEGION

FOR WE ARE LEGION !!!
