I love the ethnicity of the League of this era. I wanted to show some of them and some who might be possible. I haven't decided if they all have to be xenophobes. I hope not, since the original Justice League line-up included a Martian and a Kryptonian. And many others from other worlds or dimensions, over the years. The first - from South America and a plant elemental: model is Florian Bourdila. photographer is Micolas Valois

2nd entry. Since none of these feature subject names or photographer credits, I'm not going to list credits (I don't want to take away from the . . . topic.) If credits are given, I'll post them as they present themselves. I promise. This one is so calm, so the opposite of his powers: NOT Japan's quakester, China's.

I'd love to see your experiments! And anyone who wants to contribute, please do! Thanks for the comments and thank-YOU, LASH, for the coolness citation!

I love the name 9.9 as well! And the irony of someone with earthquake powers being really unshakeably calm.

3rd entry, revised - She retains the ability to communicate with and control all raptors (Earth types, mythological/magical types and even ET types, which she doesn't know about or presently use.) She can also morph into a legendary creature, the Sphinx. The differences in her version is that she is much smaller in that form than a 'normal' Sphinx, since her form is based on the African Goshawk, a falcon. Her catlike body is small, as well, based on the Caracal, also known as the African Lynx Her Sphinx powers still include flight, raptor control, wisdom, riddles/wordplay and ferocious strength, claws & teeth, which she uses on the riddle losers.

4th: The second representative from China is a phermone hypnotist. As she sings, phermones are released that entrance those she has targeted, individuals or groups. Victims fall asleep or become open to her suggestions, acting upon her commands:

Rain Forest is from the Amazon River in South America's Brazil. Catspaw is a jaguar/panther from Central American forests, Nicaraguan forests, to be more exact. His powers are the same as the female Catspaw of the SW6 Legionnaire era. model is Thibaid, photo by Nicolas Valois

I really like Arial's powerset - if you are not so in love with her name, how about spelling it Aerial to invoke flight more overtly?
Other name suggestions: Raptor Avian Aviatrix Chimera Mythos (I really like Mythos as a name, but don't know if it suits this character so much?)

Thanks for the ideas! I love 'Chimera' but when I looked it up, it doesn't have wings and/or any bird features.
I've looked up some African and Egyptian goddess names but it's hard to find something that really works.
I think I'm going to simplify her a little.

Originally posted by Candlelight: I've looked up some African and Egyptian goddess names but it's hard to find something that really works. Ma'at was the Egyptian goddess of justice and judgement and balance, and was portrayed with a feather in her hair and sometimes with feathery wings (she would weigh a person's heart against a feather, and if it was 'heavy' with unjust deeds, the person wouldn't get to go on to the nice afterlife...). One version of Ma'at was also associated with (or married to) the bird-headed god of knowledge, writing and divination, Thoth, which could also tie in with the riddles and stuff. Most of the big name Egyptian goddesses (like Isis) have human heads, except for Bast/Bubastis (cat), Sekhmet (lion), Nephthys (also lion), Hathor (cow) and Renenet (cobra). All of the bird-headed gods (Thoth, Ra, Horus) are dudes, but Ma'at at least has the bird-motif going on with the feather-hair and wings. I think it's pronounced 'maw-AHT,' if you want to use that for Raptor Lass. Then again, 'Raptor' is a fine name, too.

Thanks, Set. Ma'at is a wonderful suggestion, as is your pointing out of 'Raptor'.
After some study, I've decided to go away from the Egyptian goddess idea and go more for the natural and the African.
I think. lol
I always love the thoughtfulness and creativity of your input. :deepcurtsy:
Edit: I have updated her. I hope you like my choices.

This the first of 3 in 1, the Triae. She is the bee goddess(3) Bees in mythology usually are connected to honey, eloquence, wisdom and gates/bridges into other realms. In Egyptian lore, bees are the tears of Ra, the sun god. In Hindu, bees form the bowstring of Kamadeva, the love god. In Mycenaean the bee is Potnia, the Pure Mother Bee. I thought I'd combine the 3 under the Greek Triae because of their 3ness, a sort of Triplicate Girl without the Carggite stuff. They each have a power: instantly causing extreme drunkeness(meade), instant fawning besottedness(bowstring of love), and instant shattering grief(tears of Ra). They can be in different locations or together or joined. Their personalities are very different, as their powers suggest. Together, they open travel portals like Shikari's people. This is the first of the Legacy JLEers. Meran is a descendant of Queen Mera and Aquaman from a child conceived during the Brightest Day era. She inherited both of their power sets: commanding sea creatures, telepathy, superfast swimming and water constructs. Atlantians have become paler and more fishlike as they co-mingled with each other, the mer dynasty and the footed species. I'm adding this one because it goes with the first portrait and shows her underwater with flippers and some water manipulation. I also love the work: This image then becomes her walking in the halls of Atlantis set aside for airbreathing guests: All 3 originals are from an Alexander McQueen show.

Japan is represented in the JLE by Mosaic. She is a member of the royal family, a bit of a black sheep who operates outside of the prefered decoram established for royals over the millenia. With a word and gesture, she turns whichever person(s) and/or area into a mosaic which lasts as long as she wants up to an hour. This ability includes all matter and all energy except tacheons. Time is also, on one level, contained within the mosaics, as whatever is in the 'picture' is held in a type of stasis for the period of containment.

The second of the Legacy JLEers is the current Batman assistant, from England. A Greystoke, his armour is very light and flexable, like Mithran, and his weapons vary from a light sword to the classic batarang: photo taken from a 2010 Alexander McQueen Paris show

I like the mixture you have of Batman lore, combining Robin with his British counterpart.
I need to look at the rest of these later.

Greystoke is Burroughs' Tarzan, Lord Greystoke. Wayne and Grayson have always reminded me a bit of him.
