Illuminations, a collection of Alan Moore's prose fiction, including the controversial What To Know About Thunderman.
I went straight to Thunderman (predictable on my part, I know LOL) I'm still digesting it, but my immediate impressions are that it's excessively judgemental and bitter, yet still a far better work of prose fiction than Grant Morrison's Luda, which still lies unfinished by me.

Cimino: The Deer Hunter, Heaven's Gate, and the Price of a Vision, by Charles Elton.
A very good biography of the controversial, mysterious, elusive filmmaker Michael Cimino, who died in 2016.
And, yes, the author does address the questions about Cimino's rumored gender and sexuality issues.

I am on Chapter Three of "WHEN THE MOON HITS YOUR EYE" by John Scalzi and I am already ready to recommend it This is classic hard science fiction Take the real world as it is, alter a single aspect of reality, and examine the consequences This is not really a spoiler, because it happens in the first chapter, but One morning, at 5am Eastern time, the Moon transmogrifies into cheese

Welcome back, Googoomuck.
I'm not that familiar with Niven's work outside comics, but I enjoyed Green Lantern Ganthets Tale, as well as an 80s graphic novel adaptation of one of books (I think it was titled The Magic Was Gone; I know for sure that Jan Duursema did the art.)

The Mote in God's Eye is a terrific tale, one of the best of their collaborations. IMO it's the best "first contact" story I've ever read.
I've read most of Niven's work. He's incredibly imaginative with his setting and ideas and I think his short story work really shines. His novels can drag a bit but his work with Jerry Pournelle produced some real bangers.

The recent "Murderbot" show on Apple has me rereading "The Murderbot Diaries" which is a series of novellas by Martha Wells. Really like them.
The main protagonist (who is also our POV as it is all told in first person) is a SecUnit (Security Unit) which is a Construct, a bit like a cyborg except it was never human. Rather it was built from mechanical and grown organic parts and is considered a disposable mechanism by the company that built it. However it has hacked its "Governor Module" and so has free will but hides it. It is uncomfortable with people's emotions and has no desire to be a "person" but gradually forms relationships with people which it finds very uncomfortable. Mostly it wants to be left in peace to watch its media file of soap operas.
The first book "All Systems Red" won both Hugo and Nebula awards. Great stuff.
