I had totally missed that this comic was coming out until I found out #2 is coming out this week!

So, I read #1, and it is freaking awesome! Total retro-coolness! My favorite new comic I've read in a long time!

And #2 features The Mad Mod!

Thanks for the recommendation and the sample page attachment, EDE.

I'm definitely intrigued, but I have to admit I'm a bit wary because I wasn't a fan of any of the many things that Al Ewing wrote during his long stint at Marvel.

I'll wait and see if others are equally enthusiastic about this book.

Yeah, I was actually curious about his Marvel stuff, as this seems to be almost the first thing he's written for DC (other than a story in one of the Pride specials). I glanced through a bit of the Marvel stuff, but it didn't immediately have the same kind of charm.

This is very much a love letter to DC's campier mid-to-late 60s comics like Metamorpho or Teen Titans, and really well-done generally, imo.

It feels very Mark Russell to me, probably partly because of the Steve Lieber art
