Same here!
I think if every Bits writer would add her to their fics, that might inspire the next DCU Legion writer to include her.

I'd definitely be tickled pink if someone reading the fics here got inspired, and went on to write the canon Legion!

I'd certainly be flattered if one or more of my ideas ended up in canon -- I've been theorizing lately that DC is planning to continue the 5YL Legion, and while I'm not a fan of that era, I actually am quite proud of that 5YL continuation fic that I wrote a few years ago.

I'm of the opinion that any version of the Legion is worth continuing, though there's some I'd be more interested in than others.

That's definitely one of the ones I'd be least interested in.
Though even that I think has potential with the right writer.

Though even that I think has potential with the right writer. How do you think this hypothetical writer should deal with the "Ranzz Twins In Blackface" problem? Seriously, I don't see any way around it.

I don't have any great ideas for that.
I do think there's an interesting story to be told, which is where I thought Bendis was headed originally, about restoring the destroyed Earth. Also, the very fact that so many characters were given little to no characterization actually gives a writer a lot of blank slates to work with.

Bendis has a bad habit of not following through on what he sets up. I will concede that there might be potential in some of those neglected ideas. (But Thorn is not one of them.) (I couldn't resist sneaking that in there.) ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif) Also, the very fact that so many characters were given little to no characterization actually gives a writer a lot of blank slates to work with. Good point well taken. My pick for breakout new character (before I gave up on Bendis altogether) was Monster Boy.

Again, it wouldn't be my top choice, and I haven't put a lot of thought into it, nor do I want to at the moment, bit I wouldn't automatically write ir off as unsalvageable. I would definitely ignore the whole Futute's End thing or wahtever it was called, because I'm pretty sure that was just horrible.

I'm not sure what my top choice would be.
I kind of like the idea of diverging the timeline right at LSH v2 issue 283. That way, there'd be no Levitz Mark II era to be an albatross on the hypothetical writer's back.

I definitely think that things could be done with a lot of the versions.

I definitely think that things could be done with a lot of the versions. Oh, absolutely! Another one that I'd highly favor would be picking up the Postboot right where it left off with the Simone/Jurgens storyarc.

Sounds great! I also think that if there's a Postboot Nightwind, then there should be a Postboot Lamprey. ![Lamprey Lamprey](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/Lamprey.gif)

Agree, I like their friendship.
I created a Postboot Lamprey for my fix, but gave her water powers like Mera, to differentiate her from the Ranzz twins more

Cool. ![cool cool](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/cool.gif) Years ago, I wrote a short, in-canon, single-post fic about the Preboot Nightwind & Lamprey. I was happy with how it turned out. I might someday write a new fic with the same characters and criteria, taking place around the time of the classic tryouts issue from the Baxter era.

They did. I always felt they were robbed during their introduction. Wildfire says they didn't do a good job, but they did!
