agree with all! and also - Besides perhaps the Green Lantern Corps, I think DC has overdone it with legacies. After some time, we have enough Flashes and Wonder Womans... I know some like the family vibe, but I also like variety... Having Jay Garrick and Barry Allen alongside Wally West and perhaps Bart? sure, that's kinda a lot already, but like, can we stop there... I'd like to see more new ideas, or some lesser-used characters being given a chance to shine...

I get that some of the legacy characters (and the Absolute line) are DC/Warner Bros' way of are trying to hedge there bets against imminent public domain for their Golden Age characters, but I agree that it's overdone from a reading-enjoyment perspective.

I definitely see more variety in a typical Marvel crossover, than I do in the more recent DCU crossovers!

Place that's been around for thousands of years being destroyed every couple of years in the comics.
Oa. Atlantis. Feithera. Tamaran. Thanagar. Gotham. It seems like anywhere a superhero comes from, even if it's been around for centuries, or millenia, is going to explode every couple of years, in the modern age, which is not only terribly bad writing, but it also makes the current crop of heroes related to that place, like Batman for Gotham, Aquaman for Atlantis, etc. look *STONE COLD TERRIBLE AT THEIR JOBS!*
I mean, *obviously,* given all the crap that Atlantis has been through in the last 50 years of publication (which encompasses the rule of one Arthur Curry), he's just the flat out worst King that Atlantis has ever had, and I'm pretty sure that isn't the message DC wants to be sending...
Same thing for people who've been alive for aeons. That Justice League movie showed dozens of Amazons getting killed. They've been alive for 2500+ years, and *this year* they start dropping like flies? That doesn't make any sense. Why are there any left, if they die so easy? It doesn't make Darkseid's flunky look badass, it makes *the Amazons look like they have never been challenged for all these millenia!*
Ditto Guardians of Oa. Millenia old. And *NOW* they die regularly. It's like their warrantee just expired or something...
And then some new writer wants to use them, so he has to bring them all back to life, but now there's a trend, anything 'big' has to kill some Guardians to flex and establish it's 'mega threat cred.' So oh look, let's gank a few Guardians *again.* So terribly tired. Ganthet gets brutally murdered and mutters, 'Oh no. Not again.'
