Mark Waid's 12-issue run on Action Comics just came to a close, and with it Mon-El's story.
Spoilers for those that didn't read it, but want a quick summary of the end:
The Phantom Zone has now been returned to its old state which most Legion readers will be familiar with, that of a void with little physical matter, and both Aethyr and Xa-Du have been removed from power. Mon-El is now the Warden of the Phantom Zone, deciding if the various "zoners" imprisoned there have truly repented and are worthy of being freed into the material plane. If so, they are freed from the zone by the Kandorians and live in the bottled city. Mon-El got this position because the Kandorians observed his actions in the previous issues and decided he was the one they trusted most.
I have this silly fanon that Mon's 'opposites attract' relationship with Shady has at least a little to do with the last 1000 years of experience with women has been with Zoners, who were, not always the most delicate of flowers...
Still, words that will never leave Mon's lips. "I like Shady. She's got fire. Like the women I knew in prison."
I'm glad her character hasn't been abandoned. Plastic Man mentioned the Terrifics in past tense though, so that's a bummer. I was hoping that team would become permanent.
In Green Lantern #19, a new female character is ransacking a storage area for weapons etc on Oa and after grabbing a number of particular weapons looks in an empty drawer saying "My ring ... Where is my ring?!" Kyle turns up calling her "Odyssey the Time Bandit" and says "is this what you are looking for?" Odyssey grabs the ring and we see that it is a Legion Flight Ring!
Kyle apprehends her and explains that after finding a locked file in the Guardians database, instead of locking her up again he wants to give her a second chance, apparently to work with him and go straight. The alternative is "... or we call that OTHER time traveller you seem to be avoiding, and who I can't believe exists ... and let HER take care of it."
SO hopefully we will learn the back story over later issues, such as who Odyssey is, how Kyle knows her, where she got a Legion Flight Ring from, and who the other also female time traveller is.
