Yeah, that's clearly what leads into Action #342. I'm kind of shocked there isn't a footnote referring to that story.

Now I'm wondering if there's anything where the LSV escape the Prison Planetoid.

I had a look but it appears that the next appearance in print is the Shooter Adult Legion story in Adventure Comics #354-355. After that they mostly only appear in 30th Century stories. Their 20th Century exploits remain unresolved.
