I haven't got it myself but this video gives a pretty good idea of what it's like.

I got this for Christmas (a present for myself!), and was pleased to see that it was in color, as I've gotten a few anthologies like this that were in black and white, to my displeasure!

It was a treat to see some old classic Cockrum art!

Also not very knowledgeable about the print run / history itself, it interested me to see that the Legion, in just two or three years of it's history, had bounced between Adventure Comics, Action Comics and Superboy's title. That would seem like a perfect way to bury a property today, and yet the Legion has held on!

Here are the stories included;

Table of Contents
page 6 Mission Diabolical (Adventure 374, 1968)
p 30 The King of the Legion (Adventure 375, 1968)
p 54 The Execution of Chameleon Boy (Adventure 376, 1969)
p 78 Heroes for Hire (Adventure 377, 1969)
p 102 Twelve Hours to Live (Adventure 378, 1969)
p 126 Burial in Space (Adventure 379, 1969)
p 150 The Legion's Space Oddysey (Adventure 380, 1969)
p 174 The Forbidden Fruit (Action Comics 378, 1969)
p 184 One of Us is an Imposter (Action Comics 379, 1969)
p 192 Half a Legionnaire? (Action Comics 380, 1969)

That includes a huge chunk of Legion Omnibus #3--would have been better to start with Superboy #172...

I believe the contents are plotted out so that they can go back and fill-in the "previous" volumes. So, it was either overlap with Omnibus 3 or start with Superboy #204, which would be skipping the Cockrum era.

But more than 300 pages of overlap?

Oh yet ANOTHER collection that skips over Cockrum? What gives? This is ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't really understand it. I mean... I get that the idea is that they were wanting to do something different than just start another reprint series with Adventure #247, but starting it with a volume that so heavily overlaps the most recently published Omnibus collection is a bit weird.

Though, e.g., The Flash, Green Lantern, and JLA volumes don't have anything that hasn't already been collected in the Omnibus format.

The new trades are patterned after the Marvel Epic Collection trades, which collects runs out of chronological order and tries to get to the best and/or rarest issues first.

For instance, the first Green Lantern volume covers issues 19 through 39, because that's around the time the series hit its stride in both stories and artwork.

Still "Fickles" to my friends.
