Is there a typical waiting period before someone else prompts a question? I don’t want to step on Thoth’s toes.

Thoth hasn't visited to boards since November 19th. Hope everything is okay.
Anyway, someone should pm him, and if he doesn't respond in a couple of days, I think it's open to anyone to ask a question.

I know this question will seem super vague, but it should hopefully clear up quickly.
When referencing the DC character Johnny Quick, one needs to distinguish between the golden age and Earth-3 characters. What Marvel character(s) share an uncanny amount of similarities to the Johnny Quick situation?
(If lost on what I even mean, I’d suggest starting by listing things about Johnny Quick to compare to)

Maybe the Whizzer? In that there's the Golden Age version and the Squadron Sinister version. And, you know, super-speed.

Got it right off the bat! The name the Whizzer is shared by two characters. Just like Johnny Quick, both are speedsters, with one being a golden age hero and the other an alternate universe villain. The evil Johnny Quick and Whizzer are both analogues to the Flash in pastiche teams of the Justice League (Crime Syndicate/Squadron Sinister). The golden age Johnny Quick and Whizzer were members of WW2-era teams (All-Star Squadron/Liberty Legion) and married a USA-themed heroine (Liberty Belle/Miss America). They also both had a super-powered child (Jesse Quick/Nuklo), though Nuklo wasn’t around all the much.

Yeah, interesting parallels.
Next Question:
It's Christmas 1974, and Superman and Batman call a meeting of the Justice League of America in order to investigate the murder of a Santa Claus! They are surprised when Green Lantern John Stewart shows up in place of Hal Jordan!
Why is Hal Jordan unable to help with the mission?
