So, for some reason, Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium apparently identifies the alternate Superboy from "The Five Legion Traitors" in Superboy #117 with the alternate Superman from Lois Lane #43, who dies in battle with Lex Luthor! Both stories apparently take place on Earth Forty-Three.. This is also an Earth in which Atlantis never sank.

Huh. Interesting. I guess someone decided to link the stories instead of placing them on even more alternate Earths.
Good pickup EDE.

In the 5 Legion Traitors, it's indicated that only some of the Legion are villainous. Despite Smallville being Smallvile here, it's not an Earth Three scenario, as it has it's own heroic Superboy.
It would be interesting to speculate why these 5 were villains, when they turned that way, if they infiltrated the Legion, and what impact it had on the Legion timeline.
What unbecoming conduct was perpetrated by Brainiac 5, Chameleon Boy, Element Lad, Invisible Kid and Ultra Boy?

That Earth definitely deserved to be explored more! I wonder if the characters who were Legion traitors on Earth-One were loyal Legionnaires in that reality?
Maybe it has heroic versions of Command Kid, Dynamo Lad, Magnetic Kid I, Size Lad, Blackout Boy, and Nemesis Kid!

Good pickup EDE. It's so weirdly random. I was just looking at Superman #215, which is also looped in with those two, and that doesn't make a lot of sense at all, In it, a Superman whose Lois has died trades places with another Superman who isn't interested in marrying his Lois. So I'm not sure how that's supposed to work. Usually whoever is in charge of these things seems perfectly happy to throw on a new number for any parallel Earth story that they are cataloguing, so getting al fancy and trying to tie different stories together isn't the usual modus operandi.

The UP gets involved to uncover a Legion Conspiracy. One that involves their smartest member, 2 of the espionage squad and heavy hitters in Jan and Jo.
