I'm sure this is how Shooter envisioned it in the 70s...

Nah, he was too busy at Marvel writing awful stories about omnipotent villains posing as creepy suburban guys in Izods and gym shorts. smile

Did he do the awful Carol Danvers raped and knocked up by some dude and then gives birth to the same dude and then leaves...or something like that?

Whoever did it must have been on mescaline.

Shooter is one of several people sharing the responsibility for that, but I'd say the main culprit is David Michelinie. And he probably did do lots of drugs back then.

There's actually a potentially interesting story there about a temporal anomaly trying to create a new origin for himself in order to preserve his existence, but man, it's hard to imagine the execution of it being any worse.

yes, there is. And a good, competent writer, could have done it. But that thing was an abomination, a stain on the very essence of all that is comicdom. Yeah and verily, it doth stinketh.

Jim Shooter was also responsible (though he claims it was a miscommunication) for Hank Pym being know as a wife beater. A single panel has forever ruined my favorite superhero, just for a reactionary story. Since then, it feels like he’s only brought out of limbo to remind us of the slap or to make him Ultron. Jim, you great fool!

re:Shooter, I was thinking more about the personality profiles he created for the Legionnaires sometime in the 70s.
