- debuted prior to CoIE
- is originally from the Earth 1 universe (though that later becomes unclear)
- is from planet Earth and is of a real-world species, though not a human
- has abilities beyond a normal human, but not necessarily powers
- is considered heroic

I can only think of two parrots, and neither quite fits.

Is it Air Wave's parrot Static?

You’ve got it! My character was Static, the proverb parrot. The pet sidekick to the original Air Wave, Larry Jordan, appeared in Detective Comics in Earth 1. However, Air Wave (but not Static) later made a few appearances with Earth 2’s All-Star Squadron.

Aww... that explains it. As a GA character, I would've classified him as originally from Earth-2, though that gets muddied when his son is introduced on Earth-1, which is later explained as the result of him switching Earths, though that doesn't make a lot of sense since he's supposed to be Hal Jordan's uncle. Interestingly, there's also an Air Wave villain known as the Parrot.

The other parrot I could think of was Squawky the Super-Parrot, who exists only in Supergirl's dream, which might make it ambiguous as to whether he's from Earth-1, but I think he's a Kryptonian dream parrot.

I'm surprised there are no pirate-themed characters with a parrot sidekick.

The original Air Wave also met Superboy, which places him on Earth 1.
That definitely feels like a missed opportunity.
