It's consistently whimsical, with no darkness or violence. It was unfortunately cut short after (I believe) 2 seasons due the writer's strike of whatever year that was. I believe Fuller wrote some follow-up comics to continue the story, but I've never read them.

Ah, Pushing Daisies! So short-lived, yet so beautiful! Apparently, it's available on Max, one of the streaming services I don't have.

Streaming -- a necessary evil, or an irritant that it's still not too late to deal with?

Right now I'm paying 10 bucks a month for BritBox, and over a hundred a month for my satellite tv. Considering I watch the former at least as much as alll of the channels on the latter put together, it's really puzzling to me why I keep paying for the latter.

I'm bingeing My Adventures with Superman.

I adore this show. It pulls the PZH Legionnaires vibes REALLY hard and in the best way. SUPERHEROES CAN BE FUN, DAMMIT AND NOT DARK ALL THE TIME!

Now I just want to see the Legion in this show.

I've heard good things about that. Not on a streaming service I currently use but will definitely check it out sometime.

I've been binging Northern Exposure very enthusiastically the last few weeks and am almost thru season 4. I caught a few episodes when it was originally broadcast. I always liked it but never seemed to catch it on a regular basis. Well, I'm rectifying that now. Such an excellent, quirky show in which the characters and the gorgeous setting are the major elements. I think what really makes the show great are the various recurring characters. It's a show with some drama and heart but feels primarily like catching up with friends each episode and is not dependent at all on artificial intrigue and sweeps month hooks.

I'm a little trepidatious about season 5 and the pending departure of Rob Morrow/Joel Fleischman. I'm committed to watching the whole thing, though.

Meanwhile, my wife and I are watching Resident Alien together, albeit at a slower pace. Oddly enough, it feels like a spiritual cousin of Northern Exposure. The big difference is this one obviously does have a huge story arc, but the similar setting, emphasis on characters and quirkiness make it interesting to watch both shows concurrently. RA has more LOL moments that NE, but both are highly enjoyable for their humor and lighter feel compared to many hour-long dramas.

I'm in a similar situation with Northern Exposure, having watched it occasionally when it originally ran but never having watched all the way through.

I recently caught up on all 13 series of Death in Paradise on Britbox. A fun murder mystery series featuring a succession of fish-out-of-water British detectives leading a native team on a Caribbean island with a substantial French history. Fun show, even if the reliance on overly similar solutions to many mysteries. I'm a little embarrassed that I watched almost the entire show without realizing that long-running character Officer Dwayne Myers is played by the same actor as Cat from Red Dwarf.

Northern Exposure was a show I liked rather than loved, but I have seen almost every episode at least once, back when it was a rerun staple on A&E. Also, it's one of my mom's favorite shows -- she taped every A&E rerun onto VHS.

Watched the occasional Death in Paradise episode when visiting family. Always fun. Not very deep but fun.

Why did I not find out about the web series Yacht Rock until yesterday???

Been rewatching old favorites between episodes of the Acolyte, House of the Dragon, etc.

Started with Buffy and Angel. Some amazing witty dialogue and fun characters. Resisted the urge to make it a Whedon marathon by moving on to Firefly and Dollhouse...

Followed by The Finder, sadly only lasted a half-season, but was very fun.

Then moved on to Life with Damien Lewis and Sara Shahi, which lasted a couple of seasons, and was less 'fun' and more serious, but had some great characters and drama.

Probably going to something lighter afterwards as a bit of a palette cleanser, like iZombie or Killjoys, two perennial faves. Maybe Eureka?

I enjoyed Life a lot when it was on the air.
