My character is white.
As far as I am aware, my character has not appeared since Flashpoint.

Did your character tend to interact with any particular other superhero?

My character did not make a habit of interacting with any other particular super-heroes other than dedicated members of his book’s supporting cast.

Did some of your character's supporting cast have powers?

Did your character appear in the COIE maxi-series? (this is probably a tough question to answer, as so many folks appeared in the big crowd scenes...)

My character did appear in the Crisis on Infinite Earths maxi-series.

Generally considered heroic.
Does not have powers beyond those of a normal human being.
Originally from the Earth-1 universe.
Not part of a hero team.
Has adventures in what I would consider a colorful costume, which is military gear of a sort; some might disagree with calling it a costume.
Uses what I would consider to be a hero-type code name, though some might disagree with calling it a code name.
Identifies as male.
Has appeared in his own self-titled comic, but did not debut in it.
Not a doctor of any sort.
Has in his personal history been a member of some sort of armed forces group, but not so much so during his depicted adventures.
Uses a name that includes a military rank that is not Captain, though that does not necessarily mean a rank that is used in the American military.
From the United States of America.

Did not meet another super-hero in his first appearance.
Adventures take place during the era in which they were published.
Did not first appear in a backup story in another hero's book.

My character was not one of the heroes chosen by the Monitor to protect his tuning forks.

In fact, let me save you all some time: my character was not a significant individual in any of the major activities of the Crisis. His appearance(s) was (or were) in crowds and/or in montages. He did in fact have at least one spoken line, and was referred to by name, but if your plan is to go through the various groups singled out for action, you won't find him there.

Is it Warlord/Travis Morgan?

I was indeed thinking of Travis Morgan, the Warlord!

We never did see him react to the Phantom Stranger calling him out by name. And I wonder how he got on, trying to shoot at Shadow Demons...

Whew. I'm glad Ibby twigged to Travis. I wouldn't have got that one, but good pick CMK.

Does your character have powers beyond the normal human being?

combining the clues, with the last clue re: montages/crowd scenes, led me to Travis it was the "military title, but not one used in present" clue that sealed it! along with past military background.
