Captain Wrongway Peachfuzz was a character on the classic Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon show.

That was always a fun cartoon. Unlike the Boris & Natasha live action movie.

Duolingo uses the silly strategy for some of their lessons.
I will never forget the Dutch word for "rhinoceros" because of that.

In Spanish:
Rhinoceros = Rinoceronte
Dog = Perro/Perra
Cat = Gato/Gata

I'm very picky about my crabs. I typically will never eat them outside of Maryland (or the DMV generically) for "Maryland" crabs or the PNW for the Pacific varieties.
In fact, if a place outside of the DMV says they have "Maryland Crab" anything, I make sure I steer clear of the place!

I'm picky with crab and lobster. Less so with shrimp. Speaking of: in the Philippines, "shrimp" (hipon) is a slang term for someone with a sexy body, but an ugly face. Logic - like with shrimp, you eat the body and throw away the head

It's funny - I'm slowly picking new things up from a seafood perspective.
I'm not a big lobster guy. I'm not sure what it is; I think its the texture of the meat. Love Crab, love shrimp, but not lobster.
I was not big into oysters until a few years ago. Now I actively seek them out. My oldest really loves them too - we want to go back to Borough Market in London to visit an amazing seafood stand that has the biggest paella pan I've ever seen.
So as a result, I'll eat scallops if they are in the paella. But I generally won't otherwise. LOL

Mussels I'm kind of on the fence about, although if I get a good Seafood Fra Diavolo, I'll definitely eat it.
In fact the place in town that has the good Fra Diavolo has the BEST crab cakes in the state (IMO). They are HUGE.

Its interesting that you mention that. I can't say that I know of any actual Filipino restaurants. I have the food often as I have friends and co-workers who are, or are married to a Filipino, and I love it. But I don't think I've had that dish! I'll need to ask someone to make it

I'd say the dish I miss the most from Ecuador is Hornado, the regional version of slow-cooked pork.
As I was typing that post I remembered the Hornee La Pizza thread in the MMB forum. LOL
I'll go bump it right now, for a nice blast from the past.

I am very passionate about pizza. In my old home town, there was one place, called Homeslyce, that had really good pizza but it was REAL pricey. But the best pizza was a NY Style that was made in a shop on the side of a gas station in the middle of town
