The Monk? Don't remember them at all. Let's guess they were modelled after an acquaintance of Gene?

Not a person in Gene's life.

I remember Gene's artwork being mainly associated with the Marvel Dracula comic. Was the Monk a thinly-disguised version of a clerically-themed character from that series?

You got it in the first sentence Chaim.
The Monk was a vampire, brought back after decades by Conway, allowing Colan to reprise his Tomb of Dracula work at DC.
Storylines were interlinked between Batman and Detective at the time. So I never got to read them all. But Colan's work is among those that has stayed with me after all those years.
The stories dealt with the demands on the lives of both Batman, Wayne the businessman and Wayne's philanthropist work. Each had a cast and romantic entanglements. This was also when Jason Todd was introduced. Colan's work was both sweeping and nourish. Quite haunting, and well worth picking up.
Over to you Chaim!

Thanks! Pretty good for a shot in the dark.
The Rock of Eternity is well-known as a place of magic for the Marvel Family. Which super-hero visited its opposite number, the Rock of Finality?

Not Doctor Fate, Kid Eternity or Zatanna.
Doctor Fate is the closest guess. (Hint # 1)

JSA connection to Fate. Was it the Spectre?

Connection is correct, but Spectre is not the answer.

Not Johnny Thunder. Hint # 2 - this hero is not magical by nature.

stile has it, it was Jay! In the story “Black Adam and Isis” in the later JSA series, the ghost of Billy Batson’s father brings Jay to the Rock of Finality, where the seven Virtues of Man have statues. It was Geoff Johns’s last JSA story, I really would have loved to see where he wanted to go with the classic Marvel family. Alas, he never got there until after Flashpoint, which changed the Marvel mythos rather radically.

That would have been interesting. The Marvels have been through so many different portrayals, even beyond the crisis reboots.
The title of Superman has been largely restricted to Kal-El/Clark Kent with the addition of Jon Kent for a while, but several characters have used the title Superwoman. I count at least 8. How many can you name?

1. Of course there's the best Superwoman, Kristin Wells!! 2. Lucy Lane, who basically wore Kristin's outfit anyway 3. Lois Lane from that very short lived Phil Jiminez series with her counterpart... 4. ..Lana Lang! 5. Lois Lane from the Crime Syndicate's Earth 6. I am sure I remember Laurel Kent being called Superwoman and being drawn by Ed McGuinness somewhere...maybe a Superman/Batman story? 7. There HAS to be a Silver Age story where Kara Zor-El became Superwoman for an issue...I don't know if her being aged by red kryptonite during her Legion tryout counts? 8. I am gonna go out on a limb and guess that there was probably also a story where Superman's mother Lara came to Earth through some kind of shenanigans and called herself Superwoman as well

Great start Ibby and raz!
I should have said that I am only looking at the main continuity over the years, not th e various imaginary and elseworlds stories - although many of those were Lois.
- Lois Lane - New52 Lois gained powers from New52 Superman's death but died early in Rebirth, and Earth-3 Lois is usually the identity of evil Earth-3 Superwoman - Kar Zor-El - I may be wrong about this but I thought we have had reference to her being Superwoman when we see her as President with Rose in LSH: Millennium - Lana Lang - Gained powers at the same time as New52 Lois and continues to function as Superwoman - Lucy Lane - pre-Flashpoint during the New Krypton storyline was given powers by the military and her father and acted as a masked Superwoman - Kristen Wells - woman from the future who pre-crisis appeared in two DC Comics Presents Annuals (and the "imaginary" story Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?) Not counted: - Cir-El - I thought ahe was only ever referred to as Supergirl? - Lara - excluded due to imaginary/elseworlds story - Laurel Kent - was she ever referred to this way? I don't remember it. Can you find the reference? - Lois Lane Earth-3 - valid but I am only counting all Lois's as one character for this list
5 down, 3 to go. One has had two other names, one is related to a previously mentioned version, and one appears in a story well know to Legion fans.

And good call on Lois, I suppose if we counted every multiversal variant of Superman's supporting cast there would probably be 2 or 3 where Jimmy was Superwoman hahaha Also I accidentally found out who the others were when I was looking up Laurel so I will gracefully bow out of any further guesses

FWIW, the pre-Crisis Earth-3 Superwoman wasn't Lois Lane.
I think the Legion-connected one is Luma Lynai.
