A dark day for the Reboot contingent, as we lose 3 more... leaving 3 on the list. not bad though, with 1 5YL, 3 Pre-5YL, and 3 Reboot Legionnaires left in our top 7.

This round also shows again, how fewer voters giving more points, is better than more voters giving fewer points (compre Kinetix and Spark with 2 voters each, vs. Gates with 5 voters or Lyle with 4)

We still have 2 Wild Cards in the game as well: Luornu and Jazmin, both of whom returned in resurrection rounds!

With most voters losing 1-2 of the picks on their list, I think we'll be seeing a lot of vote convergence next round! it's gonna be interesting!

House Rules

1) Each round will last about 72 hours
2) I'll vote at or near the start of every round to minimize bias on my part.
3) While I don't encourage changing of votes, I won't disallow them either. I'll only tally votes at the end of each round (to make it easier on myself!). I'll post on this thread the minute I start tallying to alert everyone; votes that come in after that will be ignored.
4) In case of errors in the results, I'll post a correction immediately. If anyone's vote was affected by the error, he or she will get a makeup vote next round - +15 points to give a Legionnaire of their choosing (only applicable once we do ranking; for rounds before, will do something else).
5) In case of a tie, I will look at cumulative points through past rounds to break the tie.

I liked all the Legionnaires eliminated last round, and Vi and Gates hit the hardest. Top 10 is a great finish, though.

Gates was so opinionated, had so many one-liners, but was so naive in so many ways... he often genuinely didn't realize how upsetting he could be. Which was funny, as he was often quick to call others out on their behavior.

And dear sweet Vi, who grew from a painfully shy (yet fiery, awesome fighter!) to a confident leader-type, becoming a great foil for the blustery Kinetix.

with only 7 Legionnaires left, it's getting tight - and I think we're all going to have to think really carefully about which ones we really want to keep in the game!

I like all 3 below, but I have one clear fave...

Glad that all 3 ladies made it so far, though. Fingers crossed they can continue on...

I like how Ayla had a temper, but could admit she was wrong.
Jaz was a good leader, and I like her powers.
And of course, Zoe. She was generally kind and nice, but cross her and you'd get a tongue-lashing! And definitely one of the power-sets I'd most love to have in real life!

I was leery of voting for Brainy, but then remembered that pre-5YL Brainy, apart from Superboy's Legion and Legion cartoon Brainy, is pretty much 'peak Brainy' for me, not the Vril Dox wannabe he turned into in the Threeboot, a Machiavellian short-fused jerk characterization he's been kind of pushed into, in later years. He still had some likable qualities back before 5YL and was a character I admired, for having the 'super-power' of *being really smart,* in a genre where 'super-powers' generally meant shoot zaps and punch through walls.

One thing that always appealed to me about the Legion as a kid and teen is that they had a lot of positive role models, IMO. A dude whose super-power is 'really smart' (Brainy), a super-hero who is overweight (Bouncing Boy) and someone who got onto a team limited to those with powers only despite having no powers at all *because he tried really hard* (Karate Kid). All cool positive role-models, to me.

A+, totally agree, Set.

Early Brainy was great - smart, but still good-natured and chummy. you could tell he was smart, but he didn't lord it over others.

late Reboot/DNA Brainy had this again (where early Reboot Brainy was rather arrogant). but late Reboot Brainy also got that internalized forcefield - didn't take away from his intelligence, but it is a bit different from "just" being super-smart.

I think it's amazing that Querl and Kara, the star-crossed couple, have made it so far! I think of that Crisis Crossover issue with Brainy mourning Kara's death, and it just makes me feel they should have been together. Very platonic and doomed from the start..but aren't those the best ones in literature?.

And depending on future results, there may come a time that I have to leave Tenzil off--but not TODAY, y'all!!!

quite the romance there! loved the dynamic, with Brainy being the brains, Kara being super powerful, but both being very competent AND respecting each other

Querl, Jaz and Ayla each had one 1st place vote each, but Querl's larger number of voters allowed him to beat Jaz and tie with Ayla.

We also lose another Wild Card in Jaz, leaving Luornu as the sole remaining resurrected Legionnaire on the list.

and 6 of 10 voters did not lose any of the Legionnaires on their list - so I'm curious to see how things will shuffle next round!
