(Keeping in mind, this is a chicken-and-egg thing - did they get fewer points because their voters knew they had a safety cushion?)

although we didn't lose anyone from Round 5, I would say that Reboot Lyle, Tellus, and XS were all in striking distance! if, say, one of the eliminated had gotten an extra 1st rank (worth 400 pts) or 2nd rank (worth 280 points) vote ...

The Threeboot and Dead Earth realities exit the game completely, leaving us with 1 5YL, 8 Reboot and 6 pre-5YL in our top 15.

and we still have one Round 7 returnee (pre-5YL Luornu) going very strong!

with Reboot Lu's exit, that leaves Brainiac 5 as the only Legionnaire with more than 1 version on the list.

Ooooh... Two more boots come to an end. Shame about Theena. That was a character I saw myself supporting a little later.
Nice to see Tenzil dying the flag, and later eating it, for 5YG. TMK did such a good job there.
No doubt folks would have tweaked votes accordingly, but those bonus points gave a nice cushion.

Again, because of the bonus points for our Round 5 winners, I've also tweaked the point system so that higher ranks can earn a fair big number of points. The reason for this: while I wanted the Round 5 winners to get a boost, without making that boost insurmountable - else where would the fun be?

Among the round 5 winners, the average "previous round bonus" is 325. So I've considered that in setting the points for this round - where rank 1 gets 350 points. (last round, Rank 1 earned 400).


I've also, for the first time, awarded more than 1 point for Rank 5 - just to make rank 5 a bit more meaningful. This will be the last time I do this, once we stop giving bonus points at the start of the round, 1 point can be more meaningful by forcing a tie

House Rules

1) Each round will last about 72 hours
2) I'll vote at or near the start of every round to minimize bias on my part.
3) While I don't encourage changing of votes, I won't disallow them either. I'll only tally votes at the end of each round (to make it easier on myself!). I'll post on this thread the minute I start tallying to alert everyone; votes that come in after that will be ignored.
4) In case of errors in the results, I'll post a correction immediately. If anyone's vote was affected by the error, he or she will get a makeup vote next round - +15 points to give a Legionnaire of their choosing (only applicable once we do ranking; for rounds before, will do something else).
5) In case of a tie, I will look at cumulative points through past rounds to break the tie.

yeah, shame about Theena - if I had space I would have voted for her. Also Dead Earth Wildfire, IMO. And I'm also of course a bit sad to see pre5YL Tinya, Reboot Lu, and Gear go - I liked all of them, just not more than many remaining on the list.

It IS a big thing that they made it so far, esp. Theena (who wasn't an "active" active Legionnaire going on missions), and Dead Earth Wildfire (who appeared in exactly one issue!)

A bit of a preview ahead, folks:

Round 10: drop from 15 to 10

Round 11: a special last resurrection round

Round 12: down to 7; starting here on, no more bonus points, just a level playing field for all

Round 13; down to 5

Round 14: down to 3

Round 15: final round - choose one winner

I'm down to 6 on my list...

he hasn't been getting a lot of votes, so I'm not sure how high I want to rank Reboot Brainy. And I also don't want to take a chance with my #1 fave...

Kid Q II does not have a cushion, but a lot have been voting for her, so she seems reasonably safe.

XS, Gates and Violet all have a cushion, but... based on points, Gates seems safest of the 3... while Vi and XS are about the same safety level.

well, I'll feel bad not voting for Reboot Brainy, so... taking a chance that others will vote for my other faves....
