Kind of funny that the only threeboot character to keep making it through is a side character and no "actual" Legionnaires.

Threeboot was strange. I liked some things and didn't like others, but Theena was a very interesting character and one of the best additions in my mind.

edit: gang, it's 10pm here, I'll leave it open a bit longer as Thoth and Reboot haven't been able to vote yet - and we know both very well intend to

Just about to post. Sorry about that Ibby. Just one of those evenings where it was taking me ages to get to the PC. Then I realised, I'd just marked the ones I thought I'd vote for, rather than allocating points.

no worries thothy, I'm still letting my brain relax after a tough day at work, and a long meeting with the neighbors in a warm, not well-ventilated room Thanks buddy. Between re-tying everyitng that got blown away and doing some quick repairs, famiy and not being 100% today, the time just scooted past. How was your home owners meeting? I missed this thread so far (and lost some of my tops choices) but hopefully can still join this round: Resurrection round to come! It'll be interesting to find out who some of your top choices were Idle. Good to have you onboard. It's really interesting seeing who people give points to. From Dead Earth Wildfire to Tellus, I'm looking forward to finding out more about the choices. EDIT: oh thoth you romantic you! Brainy and Kara, Brainy and Laurel... sitting in a tree... I think you'll find they are flying above the tree. That's the tough thing about having, not only multiples, but very close multiples. Pre-Crisis Brainy and Kara were very interesting in the period just before and when DC decided to bump her off. 5YG Braining and Laurel had a different dynamic, freed from the Super-Offices. I thought TMK did really well, showing us the difference in the personalities due to this versions time in the 30th century (although I think it was orgininally intended to involve some time travelling too) DOUBLE EDIT: Chuck and Lu and Ayla and Vi aren;t far from my thought either, now you come to point that out.

hope you feel 100% soon thothy! or 300%, then you can also gain two Carggite-thothies who can help you with tying things down... the meeting went well, lots of business got done, and I got to nod along and pretend I understood everything in Dutch, while trusting hubby to fill me in after... Got the core but some of the details went over my head alas. Where's Cypher when you need him totally agree, curious to learn more about why folks find so-and-so fascinating. and TMK did very well in making Laurel her own character, based on but different from Kara TBH, Zoe and Vi are (in many ways for me) also up there: though in my headcanon they're only best friends, but what BFFs they are (GL has a different take of course and Reboot Brainy/Gates make such a good pair of BFFs too! not coincidentally, these are in my top 4... their friendships really up their appeal for me

Just a mild thing I picked up at the weekend. I'm not used to getting anything, so no doubt get extra mopey about it. Didn't Cypher get dedded because the readers didn't like him/ writers didn't know what to do with him? Count your blessings. I prefer "Where's Laurel with an Telepathic Earplug," for extra safety myself.

Sorry, saw some shiny objects (Reboot) Invisible Kid - 342 (Reboot) Gates - 326 (Reboot) Spark - 302 (Reboot) Shrinking Violet/ LeViathan II - 30 Given the whole "continuing point totals are a bonus for those who get through this round", I *was* tempted just to boost Spark & Gates as high as I could, but I decided to save Lyle, and eh, throw a few points at Vi to make sure she stays in too.

I'm been mulling over how to structure the points so that the +10% doesn't become too big an advantage!

RESULTS TIME!!! End of Round 5!! We shook things up by doing away with rankings, and moving to a free-for-all distribution system with a nice shiny prize of bonus points for the next few rounds! so... who made it to become the first 10 entering our Top 30? Voters could pick among 50, but only 10 make it... cue the suspense, and this time I'm posting the results from the bottom up. Lots of points sprinkled around, and a few getting zero votes - from the list, I'm fairly certain some of these zero points are strategic choices... (5YL) Impulse (Kent Shakespeare) - 0 (5YL) Reflex (Devlin O'Ryan) - 0 (Reboot) Cosmic Boy - 0 (Reboot) M'Onel - 0 (Reboot) Saturn Girl - 0 (Reboot) Sensor - 0 (Reboot) Triad - 0 (Reboot) Umbra - 0 (Pre-5YL) Dawnstar - 30 (Pre-5YL) Dream Girl - 30 (Pre-5YL) Light(ning) Lass - 30 (Pre-5YL) Shrinking Violet - 30 (Reboot) Andromeda - 30 (Reboot) Shikari - 30 (Reboot) Superboy (Kon-el) - 30 (Pre-5YL) Cosmic Boy - 40 (Pre-5YL) Sun Boy - 40 (Reboot) Gear - 45 (Pre-5YL) Saturn Girl - 80 (Pre-5YL) Polar Boy - 90 (5YL) Shrinking Violet - 100 (Reboot) Brainiac 5 - 100 (Reboot) Live Wire - 100 (Pre-5YL) Bouncing Boy - 130 (Pre-5YL) Princess Projectra/ Sensor Girl - 130 (Pre-5YL) Karate Kid - 140 (Pre-5YL) Phantom Girl - 140 (Pre-5YL) Superboy - 140 (Pre-5YL) Ultra Boy - 140 (5YL) Infectious Lass - 150 (Reboot) Monstress - 180 (Reboot) Chameleon - 200 (Pre-5YL) Shadow Lass - 230 (Reboot) Kid Quantum II - 230 (Dead Earth) Wildfire - 300 (Threeboot) Theena - 300 (Pre-5YL) Timber Wolf - 330 (5YL) Laurel Gand - 351 (Pre-5YL) Triplicate Girl / Duo Damsel - 352 (5YL) Brainiac 5 - 354 And the Top 10, walking away with some bonus points AND a spot in the Top 30: (Pre-5YL) Brainiac 5 - 362 (Pre-5YL) Tellus - 380 (Reboot) Shrinking Violet/ LeViathan II - 380 (Pre-5YL) Supergirl - 381 (Reboot) Invisible Kid - 382 (5YL) Matter-Eater Lad - 450 (Reboot) Gates - 451 (Reboot) Spark - 452 (Reboot) XS - 480 (Reboot) Kinetix - 680 including this round's points, also sharing the total cumulative points these folks have! and remember, they start the next few rounds with a +10% bonus: this is going to shake things up or sure! (Reboot) Kinetix - 3113 (Reboot) Shrinking Violet/ LeViathan II - 2140 (Reboot) Gates - 2038 (5YL) Matter-Eater Lad - 2013 (Pre-5YL) Brainiac 5 - 1704 (Pre-5YL) Supergirl - 1617 (Reboot) XS - 1387 (Reboot) Spark - 1378 (Pre-5YL) Tellus - 1370 (Reboot) Invisible Kid - 798 Reboot Lyle is far behind, while Zoe has skyrocketed ahead... Nice mix too: 6 Rebooters, 3 pre-%YL, and a 5YL-er. And each of the 10 represents a "unique" character. Though we were vey close to having two versions of Brainy scoot through. this 10 would make an interesting team... Round 6 will be up shortly!

Round 6 begins!Phase 2/Round 6 - From our Top 40, only 15 will advance to the next round. Joining the 10 who made it last round, we will have 25 of our Top 30. That also means that 25 Legionnaires will be eliminated! (don't worry though: Round 7 will be a resurrection round, where 5 lucky Legionnaires get a second chance by joining our top 30!) We go back to "traditional" voting patterns: Rank your Top 15. Points will be awarded as follows: Rank and Points1 - 500 2 - 400 3 - 330 4 - 270 5 - 220 6 - 180 7 - 140 8 - 100 9 - 70 10 - 50 11 - 35 12 - 20 13 - 10 14 - 6 15 - 1 One request when voting - please still copy-paste the list/wording exactly as below, parentheses and spaces and all, this will make it a) easier to identify which version, b) it will make my Excel lookups work House Rules 1) Each round will last about 72 hours (so, around this time on January 25th Thursday - though probably a bit earlier in my evening ) 2) I'll vote at or near the start of every round to minimize bias on my part. 3) While I don't encourage changing of votes, I won't disallow them either. I'll only tally votes at the end of each round (to make it easier on myself!). I'll post on this thread the minute I start tallying to alert everyone; votes that come in after that will be ignored. 4) In case of errors in the results, I'll post a correction immediately. If anyone's vote was affected by the error, he or she will get a makeup vote next round - +15 points to give a Legionnaire of their choosing (only applicable once we do ranking; for rounds before, will do something else). 5) In case of a tie, I will look at cumulative points through past rounds to break the tie. Realities remaining on the list - you can use this to search (Ctrl+F) the list of Legionnaires, too! (and if you have questions on the realities, please let me know!) 5YL Dead Earth Pre-5YL Reboot Threeboot Round 6 list!Realities are listed alphabetically; then Legionnaires are listed alphabetically within reality. (5YL) Brainiac 5 (5YL) Impulse (Kent Shakespeare) (5YL) Infectious Lass (5YL) Laurel Gand (5YL) Reflex (Devlin O'Ryan) (5YL) Shrinking Violet (Dead Earth) Wildfire (Pre-5YL) Bouncing Boy (Pre-5YL) Cosmic Boy (Pre-5YL) Dawnstar (Pre-5YL) Dream Girl (Pre-5YL) Karate Kid (Pre-5YL) Light(ning) Lass (Pre-5YL) Phantom Girl (Pre-5YL) Polar Boy (Pre-5YL) Princess Projectra/ Sensor Girl (Pre-5YL) Saturn Girl (Pre-5YL) Shadow Lass (Pre-5YL) Shrinking Violet (Pre-5YL) Sun Boy (Pre-5YL) Superboy (Pre-5YL) Timber Wolf (Pre-5YL) Triplicate Girl / Duo Damsel (Pre-5YL) Ultra Boy (Reboot) Andromeda (Reboot) Brainiac 5 (Reboot) Chameleon (Reboot) Cosmic Boy (Reboot) Gear (Reboot) Kid Quantum II (Reboot) Live Wire (Reboot) M'Onel (Reboot) Monstress (Reboot) Saturn Girl (Reboot) Sensor (Reboot) Shikari (Reboot) Superboy (Kon-el) (Reboot) Triad (Reboot) Umbra (Threeboot) Theena (Round ends, around this time on January 25th Thursday, though a bit earlier in the evening)

RESULTS TIME!!! End of Round 5!!
(5YL) Brainiac 5 - 354
And the Top 10, walking away with some bonus points AND a spot in the Top 30:
(Pre-5YL) Brainiac 5 - 362 (Pre-5YL) Tellus - 380 (Reboot) Shrinking Violet/ LeViathan II - 380 (Pre-5YL) Supergirl - 381 (Reboot) Invisible Kid - 382 (5YL) Matter-Eater Lad - 450 (Reboot) Gates - 451 (Reboot) Spark - 452 (Reboot) XS - 480 (Reboot) Kinetix - 680
Nice mix too: 6 Rebooters, 3 pre-%YL, and a 5YL-er. And each of the 10 represents a "unique" character. Though we were vey close to having two versions of Brainy scoot through. Aargh! So close! 8/9 points would have posted 5YL Brainy but at the expense of Pre-5YL Brainy, so really 5YL needed 27 and Pre needed 19 to slip past Tellus. Oh well. Almost, but as the saying goes, almost only counts in horseshoes and nuclear weapons. (It only just occurred to me that those late posters with their very exact points could have been calculating exactly how much they needed to get their favourites in based on those who had already voted. Sneaky. Although not much good for encouraging voting in time to make life easier for Ibby.) EDIT (Not meant as a criticism. More admiration.)

well, here goes nothing... the ranking was tough, and again a mix between "which ones are my top faves" versus "which ones are likely to get a few other votes, too?"
1 - (Reboot) Live Wire 2 - (Reboot) Chameleon 3 - (Reboot) Brainiac 5 4 - (Reboot) Monstress 5 - (Reboot) Kid Quantum II 6 - (Reboot) Shikari 7 - (Reboot) Umbra 8 - (Reboot) Triad 9 - (Pre-5YL) Polar Boy 10 - (Reboot) Saturn Girl 11 - (Reboot) Gear 12 - (Reboot) Cosmic Boy 13 - (Pre-5YL) Dream Girl 14 - (5YL) Infectious Lass 15 - (5YL) Laurel Gand
