Charles Schulz and Kurt Vonnegut were both born in November of 1922. Interesting. Both served in WWII but had very different experiences which may go some way to explaining their radically different literary output.

A good point, but they also had things in common: American Midwestern upbringings, German heritage, well-observed awarenesses of human nature, and quirky senses of humor. Something random: The weather has been miserable lately.
