Yup--always thought the distinction that he was the only Legion foe created by the Legion creator alone merited a rematch, but it never materialized...

My last question was actually about that story, the last of the four Legion tales written by Binder. A total of six Legionnaires (the founders, Star Boy, Kid Psycho, and Insect Queen) and one villain (Oggar-Kon) were created by him.

In an imaginary story, Superman's powerless son Kal-El II is able to thwart escaped Phantom Zone prisoner's Gann Artar's plans to turn ordinary Earth creatures into monsters with his de-evolution ray! What role does the Legion play in Kal-El II's plans?

They didn't do the same as that Supergirl story and have Brainiac 5 send his ancestor's shrinking ray?

While eventually Gann Artar is sent back to the Phantom Zone, the Legion did not provide a phantom zone projector.

Some kind of telepathy device to communicate between Phantom Zone and the physical world?

Some kind of telepathy device to communicate between Phantom Zone and the physical world? It is nothing involving telepathy or communication with the Phantom Zone. It does, however, allow Kal-El II to communicate with someone who has dealt with the same problem before.

I'm loving the sound of this but I am stumped. Hmm. Who else could he communicate with that had this type of problem?
Oh, do they provide a time bubble so he can check out something on Krypton before it exploded? Or maybe a time viewer?

That's it! He actually uses the blueprints for a Legion time bubble from the Fortress of Solitude to build one to travel back to Krypton and visit Jor-El, who had developed a process for reversing the de-evolution effect before sentencing Antar to the Phantom Zone originally. Kal-El II tries to leave the time bubble blueprints with Jor-El to save him from the destruction of Krypton, but alas, history can't be changed!
This story originally appeared in Superman #166. It features twin sons of Suoerman, only one of whom inherits his powers, but fortunately Kal-El II proves himself a hero even without powers, as he ends up saving both his dad and his brother!

Yeah, it's a really nice story. You get a bit of young Jor-El II learning not to bully his powerless brother, then you've a bit where they hang out in Kandor for awhile and take over the roles of Nightwing and Flamebird, and then Kal-El II meeting the original Jor-El, and it's all in a single issue jam-packed issue of Silver Age Edmond Hamilton awesomeness!

That sounds like a terrific story. At first when you described it I thought I had read it years ago in a reprint, but then realised I was remembering a different imaginary story where Jor-El had twin sons. Great pick EDE.
What theoretical space technology was involved in the first use of the Legion flight ring?

Time for a clue or something.
What theoretical space technology was involved in the first use of the Legion flight ring?
The technology is one that does not exist but has appeared frequently in science fiction and is theoretically possible given some Unobtainium.
